97 7afe intake, no muffler, stock wheels, full interior, box in the back.
17.9 @ Etown. Beat playr158's celi with that time. haha

I have a feeling that I'll be much faster this year.

My quarter mile record time is around a minute or two, maybe three... really depends on traffic on the freeway

Now quarter mile track....hmmmm... I don't think my car could even qualify.

Don't know. I'd guess at high (very high) 13's if I launch right.

About 3 weeks if I launch wrong.....

When I get around to buying a lightened flywheel and uprated clutch kit and get it fitted, a trip to the drag stip is definately in order I think in the GT-FOUR. As per Mr_E, somewhere in the 13 sec bracket should be easily attainable.

Managed a 14.01 in my FWD Rover on a slightly damp strip a while back. Soooooooo close to that 13.? frown.gif Mind you, when the car is running again, I expect very low 13s at least. 300+bhp in a 1000kg car with a close ratio straight cut gearbox should be interesting to say the least wink.gif

you might wanna get 15'' wheels
you won't be fast in the qm with 17's

you also might want to consider buying a z-06 vette or srt-10 viper for a quick qm smile.gif

what does it matter? 17, 16, 15's are still slow .. just gives us more incentive to turbo or swap

Started off with high 14`s managed to get down to mid 13`s last time I ran 1/4 mile. After having more time to get more used to the car and perfected the launch??? who knows, probably the same. Doubt I`ll get much quicker without some mods.

15.7 sec 90.4 mph , 3S-GE with k&n57i kit , decat and still had the 17's on biggrin.gif

hoping to get it down the next time as iv got the gt4 bonnet on there which has made a big difference in lowering the under bonnet temps plus going to put the stock 15's back on as there a good bit lighter than my 17's

car: 245awhp WRX

1/4 mile: not fast enough for my liking

more mods to come

speed is addicting, people say they will be happy with 14's. then they want 13's. then 13's feel slow and you look at the 12's and say that would be good, but low 12's high 11's would be great

and so on.

having ridden in my friends 5.4l turbo mustang, my WRX will never be fast enough frown.gif

I set the boost controller at 14psi but only saw 12-13 that day. ??? My 60 ft times were terrible. My best was a 2.3 which is terrible. That would have made up for a few tenths.

i dont have much more than you and ran a 14.1 (btw i suck at drag racing, more of a autocross guy). i didnt launch it either... im sure high 13s are within reach... i really need to replace my midpipe and rear section and get something thats 3" turbo back to go along with my downpipe. how do you like the GT spec exhaust? i was leaning towards getting the HKS hiper...

yeah i'll be launching it like crazy tongue.gif
i'm aiming for 13.7 or so, that's my ideal goal.

the gt spec is nice, but so is the hiper. Have you checked out Madpsi.net's exhaust database? they have some pretty decent reviews and a few sound clips of some of them. i don't think they have a clip of the gt spec, I might be able to grab one today w/ the ttops off, as it is nice outside

what mods have ya got?

oh man u should be running faster than 14.1 for sure. that exhaust and K&N fliter might be holding you back a little, but you should be a lot faster. Might i suggest apexi intake wink.gif and for exhausts, take ur pick:
http://www.madpsi.net/MR2ExhaustsPage.htm

also how do you like the DP, notice a decent amount of gain? I think I might just hold out for big mods until next summer then go w/ The Speed Factor's kit or piece together my own.

full 15PSI spool at 3k RPM is gravy smile.gif thats really the most noticable attribute from the downpipe mod is getting rid of that cat pipe and opening it up lets the turbo spool up REAL quick, it dropped by about 500 RPMs just from that one mod, but i must warn its quite the PITA to install, but its not bad if you follow the KO racing DP install instructions.

and yes, im disappointed in my drag racing abilities with a 14.1 the major reasons for this were 1) 3k RPM start wont get you very far, and 2 i would not let the clutch slip, so it bogged a bit.... this summer im going to just let it all out and make a few runs without worrying about the car just to see what happens. that and i hope to be going to a dyno day a little later this spring, should be hoping for something around 220 at the wheels would be nice smile.gif

are you talking about the speed factor's garrett turbo that they are making a direct bolt on with some sort of crazy 400HP projection with? that should be pretty sick!

haha yeah, i might just hold out for it. I dunno, I'm getting anxious to spend my money. I might just go w/ a Greddy 20g kit. No money though, gotta love loans. Yeah i say balls to the walls on ur car. See what it's really capable of wink.gif

full 15PSI spool at 3k RPM is gravy smile.gif thats really the most noticable attribute from the downpipe mod is getting rid of that cat pipe and opening it up lets the turbo spool up REAL quick, it dropped by about 500 RPMs just from that one mod, but i must warn its quite the PITA to install, but its not bad if you follow the KO racing DP install instructions.

and yes, im disappointed in my drag racing abilities with a 14.1 the major reasons for this were 1) 3k RPM start wont get you very far, and 2 i would not let the clutch slip, so it bogged a bit.... this summer im going to just let it all out and make a few runs without worrying about the car just to see what happens. that and i hope to be going to a dyno day a little later this spring, should be hoping for something around 220 at the wheels would be nice smile.gif

a downpipe should always be the first mod on a turbo car

i hit 17psi at 3200rpm, even in 1st and 2nd. stock WRX's hit ~14psi (10psi in 1st and 2nd) at about the same RPM, but they dont have a FMIC like i do

if you want to end your bogging issues with out slipping the clutch a lot, get a 2 step installed in your mr2.

my UTEC has it built in and i recently activated it, i make 10psi sitting at the line, and i get too keep the gas pedal down through shifts(my 2 step is activated by depressing the clutch) that should really help me get down the 1/4 mile

on a side note, the car shoots REAL big flames now!

boosted 2k: You should be making more than 220whp with a ct20b. You should be making 240-260whp at 15-17psi with the basic mods. You can pretty much put down 220whp with stock everything besides full exhaust and high boost on the ct26.

i question the condition of my 20B, though ive checked both hot and cold sides of it and it seems perfectly fine... id really like to see some compression tests of my motor... everything looks feels, and sounds like its working properly, it just seems so sluggish to me, i really need to tune it most likely, i think my ECU is really limiting all the capability.

boosted K2: I have some sound clips of the exhaust in neutral, and a clip of 0-80, you can hear it somewhat. It's hard to hold the camera, shift, and drive at the same time tongue.gif

awesome, you are making me rethink my HKS hiper system, guess its going to come down to whatever i can get a better price on, since they both are found at very similar prices.
