3sgte swap Q, ..... Options

Okay...a 3sgte is 4 wheel drive. can i somehow wire it to just a front wheel drive or something? if im going to do a 4 wheel drive on my 6th generation celica how much would that cost me since it's a front wheel drive? But the main question here i want to know is can i just turn a 4 wheel drive into a front wheel drive cause i know for a FACT that it will cost me a lot to convert it to 4 wheel drive? thanks.

guess I might as well say it before others do, use the search button. the 3s-gte is originally a awd, but to make your car an awd it would take a bit of money (and effert). You would need a camry transmission I believe, and if its an auto, i think you have to make it a manual. Anywho, to make a looooong story short, use the search button, there is tons of info on it.

the 3S-gte is not 4wd
the ST205 is AWD
the 3S-GTE is just the engine code.

it can be put in many cars, the transmission is your worries, check the Engine Discussion, there's a sticky about this

u can use the celica GT tranny (s54) for the swap... or the mr2t or camry/solara (e153) tranny but these have to be modified and youre gunna need hybrid axles for this setup to work.

Please do not undertake any sort of mechanical endeavor I can tell right off the bat the difference between a transmission and engine escapes you.

And no, your never, ever going to turn your 6g AWD, I can pretty much guarantee that.

If I were in your position I'd sell 3 of those cars take the money from that and the 10Gs and get a G35, but thats just me.

not really into mitsubishi...honda...acura...hyundai...nissan...or any other types of vehicles. only got LOVE in toyotas. but yeah if there weren't any celicas...i'd get a g35 since its a nice lookin car...oh yeah...sports cars shouldn't be 4doors? they should be 2 doors. i dont get why the evo and sTi get 4 doors? its really dumb. no offense. also no sunroof. but hey they're okay cars. i give em' props.

Evo VIII is an excellent car. Period.

Sport Compact Car even took liberty in nominating 100 cars for the best sport compacts ever made....and what do you think took 1st place?? EVO VII.

Anyway....I think that newcomers on this site at least deserve to at least be taught in a calm and polite manner, just because we all know the answers to a question doesnt mean that it should never be brought up by a newer member. Give the guy a chance to discover things for himself, and think back to when you didnt know much about our cars and put yourself in his place.
