Ok, ive seen and heard people say that the "3rd" brake light isnt actually a light at all, but then ive also seen a lot of ppl say it IS a brake light. I tried to get to my light for my 3rd one, but i cant get to it. Was it a 3rd brake light on certain years and reflector on others? Just need some verification on this, thanx.

as of 1986 all cars made for the US had to have a 3rd brake light. All 6gens have a 3rd brake light. If yours doesn't work, the buld needs to be changed. Pop off the plastic cover under the hatch and go from there. Good luck wink.gif

unless u have a spoiler with light in it. In my car the wire that went to 3rd light actually goes to spoiler.

Technically its illegal. If they are hardasses about it they'll check for it in inspection.
