Me and my friend were seroiusly thinking about that, or a northstar v8. He has the 350 though and the knowledge to make it happen. I just dont know if i want to give up driving for a few months while the work takes place.

becarefull with domestic car owners working on your import. they kind of live in a totally different world then we do. to them an ecu is something from another planet. to us carbs are a thing from mars.

during my swap i had a domestic guy come over that claimed to have done tons of swaps before and was here to save the day. he caused me more headaches then anything. he was trying to convince me that i needed to take off my torque converter off, and that my fwd tranny had a "pumpkin".

Alright that is a little overboard GTBOY, at least the guy didn't put an LS1 in it like the Mazda guys like to do, I don't get that either why Chevy I thought Ford owned Mazda, oh wait Ford doesn't have a small enough engine that can compete with the LS1, unless they noobercharge it, maybe a nurbo for the Focus is next, lol j/k.

I went to that eastonchang website, and I couldn't find any info on this thing. I might do a swap of some sort in the Celica one day. I'd be more likely to do the 2JZ-GTE swap. But I'm still really interested in how the drive train and everything goes together on this thing.

It was originally an alltrac so the rear axle compnents were allready in place. Good luck with the 2JZ, seriously, If there is anything this car has shown us is that anything is possible with enough time and money.

actually, Toyota did this factory setup a while back. The took the Celica, made it RWD, threw in the 2JZ and twin-turbo'd it. However, they call this special edition Celica..... a Supra wink.gif

I like the custom work on the car. Very nice and looks well put together. I loves the front fascia. I'm a sucker for the large mouth body kits, and that one is in the running. Nice find on the vid lagos.

If they can make a bolt on kit to put a 302 in a focus, then I can put a 2jz in a Celica. I'd only do this because I like Celica's look more than Supra, and I'm a sucker for a sleeper. I'm be much more likely to try to stuff this engine into an old corolla.
As for the Celica in discussion, how would the original rear end handle that much power? It seems like it would break easy to me. And I'm still interested in reading more on this thing. Thanks for the info though, anything I can learn is good.

The Supra motor is a good swap, I considered that before I planned the 3S RWD swap and it's too much fab work for me. I do know it can be done "legally" safety wise as long as you swap the firewall from the Supra in it whcih will require some minor mods to the A/C duct work and some other dash parts (you'll need to cut about 2 inches off each side), the 2JZ is about 8" longer than the 3S and there isn't enough room in the engine bay to fit it and the radiator. I know the 3S only provides about 5" worth of clearance in the front in a RWD set-up, but it also requires about 4 inches in the rear due to the radiator hose and distributor. I ruled out the 2JZ mostly because I can extract 2JZ power form the 3S and save weight and space. The drivetrain on that guys Celica is probably a Supra drivetrain with GT-Four suspension parts since the Getrag doesn't require as much space as the Tundra transmission does, he probably just cut a 6"-10" relief for the bellhousing and since the shifter is on the rear of the transmission fitment isn't a difficult job, with my research the Getrag attached to a 3S will sit just perfectly in the engine bay and transmission bay with very little fab work involved. If you want to go for it cool deal, I will tell you this a new Getrag will run about $6,000 from Toyota without the required parts to make it wok, a used with all the parts from suprastore.com will cost about $5,000 and will almost always require a rebuild so you save a few hundred in the end. The rear end with a TRD LSD is about $2,500 and the driveshaft is obviously custom since the Supras is about 3" longer and the GT-Four's is too short. If you need some more info just PM me.

Thats pretty sweet. IF they changed from an all trac to RWD, wouldn't they loose some power cause t hey disabled the front axels?

Nevermind, they just used a whole new tranny duh tongue.gif

It would be much easier to swap in a RWD tranny than keep the AWD, think about this the AWD tranny is good, but it's designed mostly for "AWD" plus they would require a custom bellhousing plus look at how the engine is placed, the front axle housing would be spinning front to back, meaning the rear output shaft would be facing to the right of the car rendering it almost impossible to use I believe, i'm not to familier with the GT-Four tranny design.
