Worried about the tranny Options

Im puttin in the 3sgte - what are my chances that the 5sfe will hold up ?

Your tranny on the 7AFE isn't going to be the only problem. You will have to get your current engine mounts removed and GT mounts welded in, then you have to get a GT axle installed, since an ST axle is a piece of cow ****, and on top of that our tranny's are pathetic, so your going to need a whole new one of those. Sole reason why i'm going 4A instead, but good luck.

Yeah i kno it will bolt up as long as u use the 5sfe disc and 3s pressure plate and flywheel, what im asking is with the added power of almost 100hp, is the tranny going to last a until the end of the year, as long as i dont beat the crap outta it.

it should hold up fine if you arent allways beating the **** out of it.

read that whole post, it is about a 6th gen with a 2nd gen 3sgte stroked to 2.2 liters and making well over 400hp WITH THE STOCK GT TRANNY.
