so once again, this summer i can not find a job. I made a resume before school finished and sent it to a company looking for the description that matched me pretty perfectly and also i applied at numerous amounts of places as well, such as best buy, sportmart, 2 golf courses and no one is calling back and i have been calling these places every few days to hear from them and i get no responses. i need a job and im a wizard with computers and what not so i dont see why this is so hard to get one. any other places that i can apply to that will hire me as soon as possible?

you try circuitcity? I work there, its a lot better the bestbuy was.. well more laid back and well behind the times which is good for retail.. an good pay.
You also have to remember theres prolly tons of people coming back looking for jobs like that, and this isnt the time when retailers need people.. so go figure. try a restraunt.. every one i know that works at one, makes bank. This post has been edited by Digndoug: Jun 4, 2005 - 10:21 AM |

air traffic controller, 10 week course, starting salary $100,000. All applicants accepted.
no im not joking no one wants these jobs because they are stressful and you have to work night hours, but then again starting $100,000 and up to $200,000 aint to bad. |

theres not really alot of jobs by campus. My girlfriend goes to UWM she'll be a junior next year, and she ended up working at Quiznos just off campus. Id say look in the Milwaukee area for jobs since youre gonna be living down there. They have some jobs on campus but I dont think they pay very well, but whatever brings the cash in i guess is all good ![]() |

this has been a fairly common news story of late on the shortage of air traffic controllers, still the most recent story I read despite all the headlines on how lucrative the field is I think they only graduated 17 air traffic controllers in the last 6 months. i think they need 10,000s worth or some such ridiculous number, oh ya im pretty sure about the starting salary I think its of course based on cost of living but its in the six figures starting. |

also i think the easiest way to get in is probably through the airforces air traffic control school, you can sign up for the national guard or reserves. the FAA hires most of their controllers from the military, but there are a few civilian schools, the big difference is the civilians one probably cost a bit of money but then you dont have a military commitment, but have a lot of debt, and theres always the possibilty you dont pass the course and you still stuck with the debt, while with the military you have your national guard or reserve duty crap you have to deal with, but you dont pay for the training, and its supposed to be the best in the US.
