Hey everyone, I want to buy a Celica, I was just hoping maybe someone could let me know if they have, or see what I'm looking for. I am really picky about what I want. It has to be a manual, and I want it to be a GT, cause I'm planning on doing a 3SGTE swap, and the less work for me that better. biggrin.gif Because I'm going the swap, I'd ideally like the engine to be shot, but that's not totally nessisary. I also don't mind(actually, I'd sort of prefer) some body damage. I'll be putting on a body kit and repainting it, so I don't mind doing minor body work.(minor basically being anything that doesn't envole straitening the frame). Since I'm looking for something so beat up, it would be nice if I didn't have to spend more than 2 grand. West coast location would help to. Okay, okay, I think that's all. I TOLD you I was picky. wink.gif Thanks in advance for the help. =]

There's one for you in Seattle. Too bad you don't want one with a 4A-GE in it. tongue.gif

That's funny you should mention that Celi. I actually already found it. biggrin.gif I'm telling you, I REALLY want a 6th gen. I've been watching Ebay, Autotrader, Craigslist, and every other place I can find for the past 6 months looking for exactly what I want. See, the problem is it's a pain in the butt finding one with a shot engine. Toyota just makes their engine's too damn well. wink.gif

I'm actually not sure how much I really want it to be a GT and not an ST. Can anyone tell me just HOW much harder it is to stick a 3sgte into a ST? I don't mind a little more work, but I don't want to have a go chopping up the frame.

no chopping at all....all ull need to do is replace the engine AND the transmission with gt tranny or an mr2 tranny which the mr2 would be just as much work in a gt to put in.....also youll have to replace the motor mounts in the st with gt motor mounts ofcourse so that they will work the s series tranny/engine....u may want to do a rear brake to disc conversion for extra breaking with the extra hp...u also may need gt axles and probably struts im not sure on that part...its not much more work the mechanical part in all 6gc swaps is really not complicated unless ur tryin to do awd conversion...the only major difficulties will be the wiring

I hear the wiring is the hardest part in a swap. But is the wiring any harder on an ST than a GT. I'm planing on getting a whole 3SGTE in a front clip, so that would solve most of my problem, wouldn't it?(besides the axles and brakes, that is)

its not harder to do the wiring on a st than it is a gt i believe... u should really consult the sticky about 3sgte swap or ask someone that has done it... smile.gif

the 1/4 doesnt have patience for a ST.... so we make them ST-T's so atleast we'll sound good going slow.
