Strict Parents Part2, On my last nerve Options

Hey everyone, a while back I wrote a topic entitles "Strict Parents" having to deal with my girlfriends parents. I think she's the one, she thinks I'm the one. We want to eventually get married, but wait for a better time. Seeing as we're both going to be seniors in highschool we had a lot of time to decide things.... Well nothings changed.... I love her with al my heart and I'd attempt to do anything for her... The problem... her parents... They were extremly strict and only let me see her once a week during weekends and no late nights. Couldn't stay wit each other for prom and no week visits during school... Pretty bad huh? I thought so too... but it didn't matter, I knew what I wanted and I was determined to get it.... Now the climax... Her parents took a turn for the worse and came to this conclusion today for unknown reasons They're not letting her leave town AT ALL to see me, when we wanna be together it HAS to be at her house with her parents consent. No exceptions.... Even better I rolled my ankle pretty hardcore last night playing basketball so I can't really get outta bed much... I def can't drive the celi cuz it's a stick and i can't drive my parents vehicles cuz it's my right foot.... They didn't budge... Some kinda bs I know. We've got 1.5 yrs till we'll be totally free from the confinements of her parents rule... Please give some advice or tips. Say what you think, but especially if u have tips or things to do to keep us going strong and not letting them ruin what we have. Thanks everyone

My advice is to try to develop an amicable relationship with them. If you are going to be with her for a long time, its the only way to go. Good luck.

To be honest.. you guys are young.. I know every one is going to say it, but you guys are way to young to be thinking about being "the one" It sucks about the parents but what are you going to do. If you really do love her, do what ever you can without pissing them off to much.

I would just talk to her parents. My girlfriend's parents were like that, and I sat down in their living room one day with them and I told them in a polite way that hey, I am going to see your daughter whether you like it or not, so you could be over-bearing pricks about it, or loosen up. (remember, I used different words) and that was over 2 years ago.. still together and I can be over there as long as I want and spend the night whenever I want and all that jazz..

Just talk to them, show them respect, dress nice and show them that you are a mature, responsible person... and then bust up laughing when you're leaving.

Just hope they come to like you. Be yourself, but be mature. And understanding. Also remember, they this is there daughter, and if you love her, you love who she is, and they are greatly responsible for the way she turned out so far, so they must be doing something right.

In all honesty, I think its a better sign to see parents like that instead who totally don't care. While it is a pain, it means they care about their daughter, and want the best for her. It must be difficult, but if you guys truly are going to be together for a long time, then waiting a few years to really get to spend time together, while it might suck, is not the end of the world.

Try talking on the phone. They allow that? I only get to see my gf twice in the three months during the summer. Its tough, but not unbearable. And, because I only get to see her a little, it makes the time together much more special (plus I save $$$ by not eating out all the time at nice resteraunts.)

Its tough. Its not fair. It must suck. But, the best thing, in the long run, would be to go along with it. If you fight it, they will make it worse. If you are respectful, go along with their wishes, enjoy the time you do get to see with your lady, it will get better.

you should pretend and have some seedy guy date your girl, then her parents will think "wow we should have dustin come in and save our daughter from this bad guy"

Parents usually dont just do this for no reason - uve lost their trust some how or they lost trust in their daughter! You need to find out whats up!

If they do this to their daugther she will end up rebelling and im suprised she hasnt yet

u know i think mine is exact opposite, i've been w/ my girl 2 1/2 months now and i see her alot (yeah i had to stop spending money on basically everything else to afford a tune up - oil change- and alot of money into gas) i travel an hour both ways every week - most of the times twice, and its a real strain but i love her parents + well the whole fam. and its great that its working out and next weekend im starting to spend the night at her house so i can save some money on gas im pretty excited that the parents trust me this much. in ur case its the exact opposite, i absolutely gave it my all to talk to the parents alot and always when i get to the house i say my things and a good convo w/ both parents and i go on w/ ashland doing something. yeah we've been yelled at a couple times over stuff but oh well its life . im telling yah dustin - u did something i think. i say kill the father... take the body out to the beach and throw it out to sea. problemmmm solved.

my GF's dad hates me but somehow ive managed to obey his rules and keep things calm. I live right down the road from her parents house! what a headache. we'll move a little further away later on.

I dated this one girl and the first night i came over to her house it was midnight and i just walked past the living room, past her dad and up to her room, door shut, and he didn't do a damn thing. thats not a good dad.

Who cares about her parents. She should follow by their rules when she is in their house. Otherwise i think she and you are old enough to make your own decisions outside of home. If she wants to see you then she should just lie to her parents if they are going to be anal butts about everything. Tell them she is going to the library or something and go see you... who cares about her parents. Its not their life... Live your own lifes how YOU want to... most of the parental guidance parts of yalls life is over! They need to let go of her

i didnt really read all of this thred....but trust me, if you are still in highschool, then chances are youll date a lot of girls before you decide who is "the one" for you.
