Was thinking about getting Eibach prokit springs (1") drop. I am 80% certain I want the 1" drop-look, but will I get it? A 1" drop is advertised; can I assume I will get a .75" instead. I'm sure there is a fudge factor between advertised and actual. What is everyone's experience?

Thanks ahead.

ill tell u this ...i got the 1.5in ...and i swear it droped the car a lot more then that. so the 1in will probably be lower then 1in .

if i had to do it again i think i would go for the prokit. the sportlines is too damn low for my taste

I agree. If I had to do it again, I would get the prokit or coilovers. The TRD's drop is like the sportlines.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

ummm.... ok. Well either I will get a drop more than advertised or no drop at all. hehe

All I need now is for someone to post they got the exact drop advertised. biggrin.gif

Well as far as my situation goes I want no more than a 1" drop, because the last thing I want is rubbing. I won't be "mad" that I got no drop at all, but I will feel a little stupid spending $220 on a no drop look.

I considered coilovers but I think all that extra money needs to go to puting on my skirts and paint.

I want eibach prokit springs because I herd nothing but good things about eibach. Plus they have been around for a while.

sighhhhh I thought this would be an easier decision. Truthfully, I think I will end up getting the eibach prokits.

Usually the drop is more than what is advertised. Typically this is because after you put the springs in and get your desired drop, its take a couple days for the spring to "settle" with all of the weight and stuff on it. This usually lowers it about another quarter inch. And just so ya know, i have Tein Coilovers dropped all the way and i do not rub at all. So pretty much no matter what spring you get, even with a 2.25 inch drop, you wont rub. I can still turn my wheel completely and i have never rubbed, and thats about a 3 to 4 inch drop for me. I have 16 inch rims, so unless you have 19's i wouldnt worry bout rubbing.

Yeah my friends tell the same about not worrying about rubbing. However I have 18x8 's, +38 offset, with 225/40/18 tires. As it stands now, there is no rubbing (max turning..whatever). But I will say this, it is pretty damn close when I max turn. I think I can stand an additional .25 in drop on top of the 1 inch. Actually it maybe perfect.

Thanks for your input TRD. That goes for everyone else who replied.

TRD springs i don't like

and lagos and jgreening have a larger drop on sportlines because they have swaps aka heavier motors

you on the other hand will not get as much of a drop as they did

there might be some truth to this, cause after my swap i did think my front was a little lower then normal, but manny has sportlines on his car, and it sits even lower the mine!

I am very happy with the performance of the TRDs. I just wish the drop was as advertised.

just get whatever you want... any spring will most likely be lower than advertised because they settle in... If you want a low car without wheel gap, then do not get a 1 inch drop, go for 2 or so, but along with this, if you have stock rims... the ride will be very low and you will feel most bumps in the road, which can be aggravating if you arn't going for the low look

id go tein... from what ive heard/seen as a vet here id say they are the lowest without going coilover (crappy crappy ride)

probably one of your cheaper options too... i have teins on my car (see profile)
