Lets set the scene. I blew a CV joint bout 3 weeks back. So I went and got an axle to replace it, its easier and not too much more expensive. Takes a week for them to get the axle, great. While I'm waiting for the axle I think, mine as well get some other stuff taken care of also. I have a 3'' downpipe waiting to be put on, so I started that. I had a bushing kit for the shifter cables, put that in too. Changed some oils, tightened some bolts yada yada yada.

Well then I find I need a bung put on the downpipe, so I bring it somewhere to get done, then I find I didnt really need the bung, ok whatever, better safe than sorry. So great, got the DP done and todays the day, finally 3 weeks later I will drive the car and it'll be faster and it'll be awesome woohoo.

Yeah, right.

I'm pulling out of my garage, I'm just out of it when I hear a god-awful noise. Immediately I think, uh oh, the axle. I push the car back in the garage, jack it up, and what has Celica given me:

Another day of fun.

I'm going to Taco Bell to cheer myself up. What a waste of a read right?

That looks like drivers side.

I had the same thing happen.

Where'd you get your axle? I had to replace both, and my drivers side blew the second time.

Also, did you replace the seals on the tranny? Make sure they're good.. they're no fun to do 3-4 times.

OT which DP is that? Berk, turboxs, etc?

If anyone needs interior stuff, etc, I'm parting whats left of my celi out. Just ask.

This is the one I waited a week for because they screwed up the first time.

Seals are ok, i got it at "autopartsstores of america". I'm going to Autozone after I get my money back. I dont know if turboXs makes a 3s dp, this one is an Aussie with black ceramic paint.

the same thing happened to one of my friends, he had just put in his axles, backed out of his garage and they came out and made horrible noises. all he had to do was put them back in, and tighter and then they worked fine.

Here's a copy of my emailed quote from Raxles in April '05. I didn't buy them (no money), but the guy seemed very helpful. Not sure about the core, he didn't mention it. Lifetime warranty.

Hi Noah,
Thank you for you inquiry!
The axles for your 95 Celica are $119.99 per side.We have them in
stock.
Please keep in mind when comparing prices
that at Raxles we use NEW outer joints on all of our axles. (An
industry exclusive)(See our website www.raxles.com/nogrind.htm
for further elaboration on this important fact).
We build these out of HD NEW components using Amsoil synthetic grease, new nuts,
and the BEST CV boots.
Let me know if I can be of help!

its mostly the fault of poor quality standards by these rebuild companies.

soltrain, thats not a bad deal. ill consder them if mine ever break again. only thing i dont like is that its a mail order, so if they screw up and give u the wrong axel, then youll have to deal with mailing them back .
