About a week ago I went to a friend of mine who has a car dealership in athens. He showed me an audi s3 with about 280bhp and he told me he would take my car for 9000 euros the audi costs about 20000 euros. What do you think?I have saved up some money for a 3gte engine swap

The audi has all wheel drive right? Personally I think you should stick with a 3S swap, but if you want to make payments on the audi and get rid of the celica then that is your decision.. I would go with a 3S and just build it up a bit before you drop it in so that when you do put it in you will have around 280bhp.. but thats just me...

I would not sell my Celi for 9k euros.. Tell him you will do the "swap" from Celi to Audi S3 if you get 12k for your Celi wink.gif Then it's a deal.

i'm not sure from money point of view, what the current rate for your celi is in greece. But i would trade a st celica for a allwheeldrive 280bhp audi anyday.

I'm not even sure that Audi is 4WD, but I really don't know alot about them either. Can someone confirm that the S3 is 4WD?

Audi uses there quattro system in there "S" cars. So its an AWD not 4WD. BTW It had some tuning because stock the Audi S3 has 210 BHP.

And what is actually the difference between All wheel drive and 4 wheel drive? I'm sure there are differences, but what? And if one of them is better than the other, why? smile.gif Lets see if you can answer that smile.gif

True 4wd system has low gearing for off road driving. And usually have locked diffs.
AWD dont have low gearing and are used for on road application.

So the GT-Four have the low gearing for off road then.. While the more high end cars have AWD. I would guess atleast. 4WD is the fun thingy, but AWD is the boring kinda thing wink.gif Or something like that.. Anyway, this is going way off topic. Sorry Lazy!

Audi S3 uses Haldex to share the power to wheels. on normal drive, its 90/10 FWD/RWD if I remember correctly.

The point is, the rear comes in later, after the frontwheels start to spin. not actually my cuppa tea.

this is not how awd works at all.
think of it this way. Awd is all the time. 4wd is selected.
they can both be used off road. (rally cars are usually awd)
if you've been in a truck with 4wd you will see something like 4L meaning 4 wheel drive low. this is for going up/down steep terrain or getting stuck etc.
bleh i don't feel like typing, just read about it. not the same thing and awd is def. not boring.
