QUOTE(spunky393 @ Aug 7, 2005 - 12:08 AM) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-91-92-93...990642259QQrdZ1 Thanks tried to get it to work for ya, it only works if you copy paste the original link to your browser. ill PM coomer about it. see what he can do. Testing stuff! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-91-92-93...990642259QQrdZ1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-91-92-93...990642259QQrdZ1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-91-92-93...Z7990642259QQrd ( problem is here ) Z1 If you look at your browsers status bar while hovering above the URL in the first post you can se the
almost at the end.. Why that pops up in there I have no idea yet, but it's what breaks the URL. The
doesn't show up in any of the links in this reply, but it appears in the original post. My Webpage It seems the "insert URL button" thingy works fine too.. Then I would guess that maybe you had an empty space or something at the end when pasteing the URL into the "helper" who converted that into a
when making the URL-code in your post.. Or something like that. Insert URL button thingy created a valied link while previewing the post, but after submiting it changed the URL and included a
at the end. (but before the last two letters, creating our problem). More testing on the subject would show if this happens only with Ebay links, or long links in general. Or all links. It might be the way IPB handles links with certain letters/symbols, or the lenght. Coomer: You changed anything in the forum-code lately? Everyone: When did you first notice this problem? Moderator: Cut out these last replies and make a thread on this in the forum feedback subforum. Thanks! This post has been edited by Illyont: Aug 7, 2005 - 9:51 AM -------------------- |

I think a lot of it would have to do with login stuff for ebay - cookies and pages expiring and what not.
I have yet to have a problem getting a link to work - what you need to do is copy the item number, and put it into the seach bar. It will bring up the shortened url. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=7991985559 edit, heres the original, before copying it over: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWA%3AIT Edit, maybe not. What browser are you guys using? This post has been edited by mark_426: Aug 8, 2005 - 7:38 PM -------------------- If anyone needs interior stuff, etc, I'm parting whats left of my celi out. QUOTE(mark_426 @ Aug 9, 2005 - 3:39 PM) none of Illyont's links work for me. Im using firefox 1.0.4 on xp pro Because they all include the
code almost at the end.. But that part was added by the forum code after submitting the post. I even tested the link in preview before posting, and they were all working. After submitting the reply and testing again.. Broken! If you see an Ebay link, look in your status bar.. Almost at the end you see the
.. That little bugger is a line change (next line), push enter when writing in Word kinda thing when doing HTML. Open link in new window or whatever and stop your browser from loading. Remove the
from the link and press enter to visit the page. Should work. Not a good solution though. Would need to find out why the forum code suddently have to change the url when you post.. It didn't use to do that. -------------------- |

In order to link to ebay ads you must use this format:
CODE http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7991078729 Just replace the item number at the end with the item number you're trying to post. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=7991078729 This probably won't work: CODE http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-RED-SUPER-REFRACTOR-15-LED-TAIL-LIGHT-BULB-7443-7440_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33713QQitemZ7993750840QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-RED-SUPER...sspagenameZWDVW This post has been edited by WannabeGT4: Aug 17, 2005 - 8:46 AM -------------------- ![]() Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |
