GT4_Addicted Very nice GT4.I like very much how the hood its matching with the red color and the JDM Projector Lights,FANTASTIC!!Also the rims are Great and as far as i know very LIGHT!!!:) I think the only exterior left for your car its a body kit!!!
You should start cleaning your engine man... rolleyes.gif

I like very much Defi gauges but i think you should remove the defi link from the dash board.

GT4_Addicted i think you are at a dangerous point running 1.2b with stock ecu,how do you feel the car???

Very nice. Like the wheels.

1.2 bar is on the high side, but if you have fuel maps for it and drive like a sensible human being you should be ok.....

You'll need a bit more than just a turbo and Power FC to acheive 400bhp @ wheels wink.gif

Nice looking Four though I'm not keen on the bonnet being a different colour to the rets of the car.

i'll prove you i don't need so much more... biggrin.gif

to achieve 400 hp @ the flywheel (what i wrote rolleyes.gif ) i just need:

1 Power FC
1 TD06 20G or equivalent
4 800cc injectors
1 upgrated fuel pump

that's all i want to change... rolleyes.gif

You will need also a Front Mount Intercooler cuz TD06 will heat a lot your intakes at High RPMs and also if you are a track guy i am suggesting to you a ball bearing turbo smile.gif

Okay, so I misread your 'fwhp' quote, but you still ain't going to achieve 400 with just that. You'll need cams, properly gas flowed head, forged pistons, ARP head studs, stronger head gasket and , as stated above, a FMIC. WAI is only really good for around 350bhp at the most.
Okay, you can stick on a great big turbo and wind the boost up, but it won't be really driveable. Full boost at 4500rpm or above coming on like a switch isn't much use wink.gif I suggest you do a bit more research before dreaming about reaching such power outputs.
I'm planning forged pistons, cams, flowed head, Apexi ECU, water injection, etc and realistically expect to see around 350 - 370bhp at the very most.

ok i forgot Water Injection... wink.gif

sorry but i don't agree with you... smile.gif i've done my research and made some good test... biggrin.gif

first thing is to choose a good turbo... which will be used in his optimum range... TD06 is a good choice... or maybe an HKS GT2835R... it won't be too lagy and won't charge with hot air as it'll be used in his optimum range... smile.gif i'm thinking about 1.4/1.5b @ low RPM and slowly decrease boost until 1.2b @ the redline... the car should be really usable this way on track and staying reliable as long as possible... i'm not a dreamer, i won't do 100.000 kms with this setting... biggrin.gif for week end driving 1.2b all the way are more than enough... and i don't use my car every day...

FMIC would be a plus but in my opinion not absolutly needed... i may made one if i see too hot air...

Magic: yes i'd love a ball bearing turbo like the HKS one... but didn't find a good turbo kit using it... rolleyes.gif or i'd have to make it myself... redface.gif

i'm really confident... good tuning is the key... biggrin.gif

1.2Bar boost won't give you 400bhp. I'm running 16.2 psi and am only just seeing 300bhp @ flywheel. You'll probably need at least 22 - 24psi to see 400 horses with the right mods.
If you can get 400bhp with those minimum mods you mention and just 1.2Bar at the top end, then when I'm in France over xmas, I'll buy you as much alcohol as you can drink in a year!

I don't know yet. I'm waiting to catch up with a few local experts before I make my decision. At the end of the day, I'm not worried about making xxxbhp - having 3/4/500bhp is only about bragging rights at the end of the day. I'm more interested in making lots of mid range torque. Bit like the WRC cars. They're limited to 300bhp but have enough torque to pull planets together biggrin.gif

Afraid the man is right. 400bhp is not going to be cheap. My spec is a rebuilt engine with forgies, decent tubby (probably a Fensport Garett hybrid), Motec ECU, uprated fuelling, HKS cams and a good FMIC. Not forgetting of course the twin plate clutch and all the other varius ancilleries that come with a car in that state of tune.

Go for it my friend, but go with your eyes wide open.

400bhp on stock internals will not last long at all.

GT4_Addicted You sound like you want a ball-bearing turbo and also GT4WRC tongue.gif tongue.gif But this is not what its all about,it is how you are going to make it RIGHT smile.gif

GT4_Addicted You will not find any HKS2835 Turbo kit for our cars but you can make a custom one or else you can make a good search in garages tha modifying ST205 in Japan beacuse many of them they keep one-off kits for many types of turbos.
If you want something on kit i am suggesting you to check apexi they got ISAMU Turbo kit with RX6B (TCW it depends on your needs hahaha) Turbo for 3SGTE engine but for the MR2 frown.gif , you can go on with some custom parts!!!Lar- its on the way with Apexi Turbo smile.gif Many Japanese performance garage are using Apexi, they are not so popular like Greddy or HKS but trust me if you check some rates you will find out that they giving big BHP!!!Check out the kit below smile.gif

http://original-parts.apexera.co.jp/pro_ap...o/isa1jz31.html

GT4WRC I like the way you are thinking beacuse i am also a fan of mid range torque and a good performance line (on the dyno) this is why i told you that you are moving to ball-bearing tongue.gif tongue.gif

You might want to revise how you say things then. You stated you want 400bhp - then you say you want to decrease the boost to 1.2Bar at the red line. How earth do you expect to make 400bhp in the mid range running 1.4/5Bar and then decrease to less than than that at the point where the engine makes the most bhp? Smells like BS to me my friend. I suggest you find out a bit more before you start posting day dreaming ideas wink.gif

A non ball bearing turbo has never been an option for me. So not sure where you get the idea that you told me I'm moving to a BB turbo confused.gif

I suggest you find out a bit more before you start posting day dreaming ideas wink.gif

calm down man... redface.gif

it's not my fault if you're frustrated... biggrin.gif

i said i've made some tests... rolleyes.gif you have your idea... i've got mine... wink.gif

one of my friend own a 2l STI tuned to 450 hp @ 1.6b ... 99/00 Impreza wrx turbo pushing 400 hps are done here all on stock internals... tuning is the key... wink.gif

my car made 330 hp @1.2b like it is actually... rolleyes.gif i'm really confident in my car... with a good turbo pushing 1.5b plus the mods i have allready listed it would no doubt pushing 400hp... but what i was saying is on track use i'll be decreasing boost to 1.2b near the redline to keep my engine quit safe but keeping 1.5b @ low rpm should give me enough torque to kick my friend's subaru butt...

just to be sure... when i'm talking of track days i'm not talking of 1/4 miles track... rolleyes.gif

So you're saying that your 3S-GTE has 330bhp with 17.4psi and the mods you list above? Hmmmm. How about posting up your dyno chart?

And just to be sure..... you're talking with someone who holds a national motorsport licence and competes in rallies and hillclimbs. Not just the occasional amble around a circuit wink.gif

Nice looking hood. I like your brakes too. How much improvement you get over stock with those?

Possible, but a natch optimistic.

I'd guess 17.4psi is worth 300bhp. Perhaps a little more. But, of course, these are flywheel figures and impossible to measure. So if the dyno operator was optimistic in the transmission loss correction, a number of 330 is possible.

The *only* figures worth a damn from a dyno are at the wheels. That's all they can measure. A flywheel figure is a guess, at best.
