Very clean engine... good luck with it. Nothing beats the note of signing ITBs at 7000 rpms... ;D

Word of advice make sure you have all the parts you need before you start the swap. Or else you will end up waiting on parts, for a week while your car just sits there.

God dam, I noticed today that tranny fluid was leakin out of the transaxel casing where the transaxel went into the tranny. I think its because of my 7afe driveaxel thats casuing the problem, cause I can see a little gap where there is supposed to be a 'dust cover'?? (I'm I right?) on the drive axel near the part that goes into the transmission.

So, I figured I would use the 4age driveaxel part that goes directly into the transmission and make a hybrid out of it cause it's still got that dust cover part or circular metal thingy that covers the rubber part of the transmission. So far everything fits perfectly, but since I have no way of getting to the store to buy some type of metal clamp for the rubber boot. I'm stuck tonight without my celi.

I'm guessing that you might also face this problem too 94silverst.

There is a seal on the tranny that fits around the axle. It's a very flimsy seal held on by a spring and when knocked loose or damaged... can cause leaks where the axles go into the tranny... I'd look there first... Technically speaking, all of the C52/C56 trannies are the same exact thing with different gearing, so one would guesstimate their respective axles are very very similar also. Just another reason to look at the seal...

So you are saying that this seal is the problem? The Giant rubber thing around the transmission hole where the axels go in looked fine. I don't know about the spings tho. I'll just have to wait and see and if its still leaking I'll go out and buy a new seal. By the way what type of tranny fluid are you guys using? Im using some castrol gear fluids.

Kwanza is right on, even if the seal "looks" okay, it may not be. Replace the seal.

By the way, it's listed as the output shaft seal.
