When I took out my air filter box, there is like a hole on the right wall under the hood that my filter is pointing too. Is that were the air comes in? And should my filter be touching it or is it fine a couple inches away? Also when I start my car I get this weird noise from under my hood. Kind of high pitched. I was wondering if this was the intake or not. Thanks!

Oh man I love it run my car now. I leave for work like 30 minutes earlier now so I can drive around 45minutes before work LOL that holds me over for 8 hrs then I drive for like 45minutes home hehehe. Right now I think I'm gonna save up for a 3sgte setup. I found one on the net, 87-90 toyota-celica ta63 3t-gte+5spmt (complete motor, + ecu + wire harness) Does that look good? Calling to check on price tomorrow

Hi all,

Just a note the hole in the right wall is for the air intake, but it is not forced. Its sucked up inside the front guard. Once you remove the box it breaks the vaccume seal and it becomes useless for cool air.

A better idea for forced cold air intake is to run a 3inch Flexible water pipe. Those sold at landscaping shops and run it from next to the Battery (attach with zip locks) pointing at your filter pod and run down past behind the radiator & the Clutch mech.
From here cut a whole or widen the air vent on the bottom plastic splash guard and poke the pipe out from here facing forward so air is pushed in.

A good tip is to place an old stocking over the end on the pipe to stop leaves & old cig butts from getting under the hood from the pipe.

To aviod heat soak wrap the pipe in Industrail foil a coupel of time and duct tape or zip tie into place.

Cheers

so if the car was grabbing cold air from the stock filter through that stock tube and you replace it with a injen intake-- now the car is getting more air which is good, but it is now hot air versus previous cooler air from that stock tube which is bad. So it seems there isn't any performance gains?

hehehe good point. Well anyways....I might actually be able to get one done this week. I got the name of a great drag race mechanic and he does side jobs from the business so it will be cheaper. I heard he can do anything mechanical so! I'mma call him tomorrow and see what he says. Bonzaisushi, ya want my exhaust and intake? Drop me an email or MSG me on yahoo. Pyro_catalyst is my Yahoo name or my email is computer_er@excite.com Laters
