Toyota had to make 2,500 road going versions of the World Rally Car to meet the homologation rules to allow the car to compete in WRC. Extra on the road car included turbo anti-lag and intercooler spray bar amongst others.

Hell yeah! 40 GT4's will be a mad laugh, the funniest thing will be if we all descend on a petrol station at the same time biggrin.gif I wont make it there and back on one tank - 250miles.
Are you going in one of the convoys or making your own way there? Therell be a few speeding fines racked up that day, no doubt about that.

Gonna solo it down and probably by chance meet up with one of the many convoys going there. I`m going to take a digital video camera with me and video the event, after all its not everyday 40 GT4`s get together, maybe if the guys n gals on here are nice I`ll post up the Video....If someone tell me how to do it. biggrin.gif

Why? Is it not worth £20 to get a fist full of usefull advice that you mat not get anywhere else (thats 5p per day) being a member has saved me a shed load more than that in repair bills etc. Maybe if you had to pay $20 as opposed to £20 that would be slightly fairer but its still worth it.

My chassis number is 2273 and deffo a '94, with regards to GT4OC membership it is THE web site on the net with regards to info on the whole range of GT4's 165/185/205 and the 3SGTE fitted to them. The goldmine of information on there has saved many members a lot of money and heartache over the years and is worth every penny of the £20. The 60 day trial has just been introduced with many "lurkers" getting full benefits of the site for years up until now. As you know the ST205 GT4 is a costly vehicle to own and run (well in the uk anyway wink.gif) so £20 on the scale of things is small change.
Just my 2psi on the whole membership charge issue.

Worthwhile adding that the antilag, pre-rad spray bar and cold start water injection systems were fitted to the road going WRC versions, but they were not activated. The spray bar can be activated (as could the WI with a lot of work), but the antilag would kill the turbo in a very short space of time.

hey,
not to get off this thread of nice car but my issue is it will cost me almost $40 US to join GT4OC .. now if i could really use all the other benefits then that would be fine .. i just would like to see maybe a international membership for say 10 GBP and dont give me access to local chat areas ..

i have addressed this with Karen but have not heard back from her ..

BTW a st205 in States is even more expensive to maintain since most of wear parts are not directly available from local dealers and everything is special order or i use suppliers in UK ..

Thanks again for all the kind words and as for featured ride, thats fine by me!

I totally agree with you, I'm just saying that it is would be worth it, even at $40 a year, the benifits would outway the cost etc etc. Anyway enough of that....Nice car driveby...see you at the weekend biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
