obviously each provider has its benefits and drawbacks.
tmobile has the cheapest plans with the most minutes, pretty cool phones, but crappy reception coverage (the worst, actually). they also have the sidekick with unlimited text messaging, email, real html internet, instant messaging, for $20/month. cingular and verizon wireless plans have competing prices, but cingular has less coverage but makes it up by offering better phones. both have unlimited mobile to mobile included with their plans. cingular has roll over and coming out with push to talk soon. verizon has unlimted nights and weekends. verizon has vcast as well as the unlimited in messaging packages. sprint (nextel) has just as much coverage as verizon but the plans cost a bit more. their plans are fair and flexible and adjust to owners' usage that way u never go over ur minutes. most of their phones have the famous chirp walkie talkie features. they also have pcs vision packages where u can watch tv on certain models. (pretty pricey though) i havent really researched boost mobile or alltel so thats that.....i love boost mobiles commercials but i cant stand the "where you at?" slogan perpetualizing improper english. i guess that is a marketing technique aimed at a different demographic.... i had cingular for a couple of years, great reception, awesome phones. then i had tmobile for a couple years as well. my sidekick does 10 times as much as any regular phone, but tmoble coverage sucks. now that i work for verizon, i switched over to the lg vx9800. anyways im just curious as to which provider is the most famous regardless of coverage areas. I've had at&t (still independent from cingular) for like 3 years.
Been pretty decent all along. I get free receiving of text messages (very nice, i use them for all kinds of alerts, news, sports, email, etc). Service isnt bad, and I have 7:00 nights + unlimited weekends. I get something like 400 anytime minutes too - but with mobile to mobile and stuff, tthey dont get used. All for around 25/mo+ taxes. Plus I have a razr, so cool phone is def there too. -------------------- If anyone needs interior stuff, etc, I'm parting whats left of my celi out. Just ask.

I love Cingular. I don't think I've ever had a spot where the "no service" thing popped up. And most of my friends have Cingular too so it's free.
Oh and plus if you pay like $4/month extra you get free text messages and AIM. LOVE IT. This post has been edited by Jen: Sep 27, 2005 - 10:44 PM -------------------- |

I think your wrong when you say, "cingular has less coverage" than verizon. Maybe cingular in the past, but since at&t and cingular merged they've got the better coverage than any other provider. My personal opinion on it is, get t-mobile if you've got a tight budget, and don't travel a ton. It's true t-mobile has the worst coverage, but it's fine in all "big" cities and places that really matter. I personally have cingular, and I think it's the best in every aspect as long willing to pay a little more a month.

Buy Cingular.
You buying Cingular directly affects how much cash I get at the end of the year. You buy Cingular, I can afford to make the car faster. -------------------- JDM ST205

Cingular. The only downside is that I have a phone that says AT&T on it, and since they are gone Cingular won't touch them. My dad broke his antenna off his, and they wouldnt fix it because it says AT&T. Other than that it's fine. I don't have service at my house, because I live in the boonies, but everywhere that actually matters it has close to full, if not full service

Cingular... a bit more expensive... but roll over is nice along with free mobile to mobile. They also got some of the coolest phones. Mine went from CA to MI and back with perfect service.

Cingular and at&t have out-done everyone now. There coverage of the U.S. is only getting bigger and bigger. There plan is much better for 5-8 dollars more. Rollover, mobile to mobile, etc. etc. If you have a problem with spring, such as your voicemail stop working, you could sit there for hours and hours, and still not get it fixed. If my voicemail stops working (rate plan change because i got so many damn rollover minutes it isn't even funny), it takes a MAX of 10 minutes to get it fixed, no problem, no hassel.
