I need to know what the highest possible UNLEADED PUMP GAS. I heard a gas station here sells 110 unleaded octane gas. Is there any higher ones out there? Remember, it has to be unleaded and from a gas station.

I don't need to know it so that I can stick it in the 7A. If I'm not mistaken, my car runs perfectly fine with Regular 87 Octane(cheap stuff). I just want to know for my own knowledge. I know here they sell 110 pump gas and it's not race fuel. It's a normal gas station. So I wanted to know if it's higher in other states. unleaded pump gas. im not interested in the leaded and race fuel/jet fuel, etc. lol.

110 MON?

Jeez that's high. Do they have aircraft landing there regularly to fill up?

no we're RON.

The UK uses MON, Japan uses PON, we use RON, which is the average of the 2.

Are you talking about the Sunoco gas station on Okeechobee Road (US27)? If so then thats 110 Octane LEADED race fuel.

If you can get a hook up, go fill up at the airport on some Jet fuel.
A few friends of mine does this, but you can only get away with only 1-2 gallons, b4 somebody catches on to the missing gas.

UK is RON. I thought the US used MON which gives a lower (but more accurate) octane rating.

I think you've got it a little mixed up.

Our pumps say R+M/2 so we've actually got the average of RON and MON (aka PON "Pump Octane Number"). I thought everyone else uses RON (Research Octane Number). I've never heard of anyone using MON (Motor Octane Number).

By cheap do you mean inexpensive or do you mean of lower quality? 'cause the quality is just as good as everyone else just rated different. The price is cheap compared to you but not compared to what the middle easterners pay.

US (R+M)/2---vs---UK (RON)
87---------------------------90
89---------------------------92
91---------------------------95
92---------------------------96
94---------------------------98
96---------------------------100

Not true...higher octane gas will make your car run better, it increases fuel economy and increases HP, it help stops pre detonation (knock) in hot engines, burns cleaner and produces less polution, I always run the highest octane I can find....usually 98Ron If I could find 110 Ron in the UK I`d use it. 100Ron is the highest we get here.

well i was talking about the orignal poster not needing anything higher then 87 octain in his st. turbo charged engines are different and benefit from higher octain, so i totally agree with you there.

I found a place up in Washington state that sells 101 octane and others that sell the racing fuels. The 101 is $5 + though.

I'm using 98 RON in my car smile.gif
That is the highest Octane rating
in Australia up until last month,
when Shells introduced 100 RON.
I'm gonna try that out later, cause it's
still rare. But it has 5% ethanol kindasad.gif

JoKeRkId613,

Your in Florida, E-85 (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline) is sold in 2 private locations. E-85 has an octane rating of 100-105 - it's almost race gas and the goverment subsidizes it.

Kennedy Space Center
3rd St & Ave C
Kennedy Space Center, FL 32815

Hurlburt Field
Building 90043
Hurlburt Field, FL 32544

Good luck getting into those facilities though.

Oh sorry.....wrong end of the stick again!!!!!....yes an ST would be pointless running anything that high , it would benifit a little with lower emissions, but thats about it.
