ok whenever i am driving while the engine is still cold and im in first and make a turn i hear this weird clunking type of sound while i am turning but when the turn is straightened i dont hear it so i know it only happens when im turning and im usually in first or second gear. What Do u think the problem is.
(the sound sounds likes rock clanking around but timed untill i straight the wheel out) |

Your cv joints are going.
This is where the axle goes into the wheel itself. Contact your Toyota Dealer for replacement axles -------------------- West_Minist

I have seen it happen at low speed. If I were you, I would call up any part store and get it. If not, take it to a toyota dealer or some other store like Pep Boys -------------------- West_Minist

If it's already making the noise, the axle is most likely already contaminated (when the boot tears, dirt and stuff gets inside and rips up the axle) and you'll need to replace the axle. I've gone through 3 of them. While it's a bitch to replace them yourself w/o a rack, they're also not so expensive as you might think. One side shouldn't cost you more than $150, parts and labor.
