I was just wondering how the TWM shifter fits into the stock shifter.
How do you remove the old shifter because sometimes there is 4 bolt on top holding the rod in on mine there isnt it looks like a solid unit. There are two small clipped in pieces facing door to door one in the front of the rod one in the back. I should have the shifter soon i am just nervous please help!! |

check the sticky in the interior forum. There is a pdf manual for the TWM SS in there in the 7th gen SS install post, I am hosting it. It has pics and all the instructions you will need.

I've got a few steps done on my TWM Shortshifter install, and all is going well so far. I am ready to undo the four 12mm bolts that hold the shifter assembly down. I don't have the right socket accessories at the moment, but here is what I think I am missing:
1) 6-inch extension (I only have a 3 inch right now - using a 3/8" drive ratchet) 2) universal joint (so that I can have flexible angle with ratchet) Please confirm if this is sufficient. Thanks! |

QUOTE Please confirm if this is sufficient. Thanks! i only used a 6 inch extension... it worked fine for me make sure to put the spacers in underneath the shifter assembly... i didnt do that thinking that it wasnt necessary and found out the hard way when it felt like i had rocks in my shifter |

I purchased the one for the 6th Gen, and it does not need or come with the spacers...lucky me. But thanks for the advice on the extension. |
