Whats up guys, its been a while. i've been so freaking busy with working and going to school in Alabama and going back to meridian MS every week to work on the car and just haven't had time
and yes the final date has changed i wil not be getting my car back this year i will be taking the car to XAT on dec 10. over a month later than originally scheduled because of complications with getting the motor there. i'm no longer getting the 3rd gen MR2 3s, i'm getting a 4th gen caldina motor now. it will be built and i was getting the turbonetics t3/t04e 60-1 ball bearing turbo. but i'm not sure if i still am or not.i think i am going to get that or the turbonetics t04e 60-1 ball bearing turbo. so if you guys that know alot could give me some advise. or some other turbo suggestions. thanks by the way just so you know the motor will have .20 over pistons, knife edged crank, balanced and blue printed block, slight port job, and all nrw internals, ferrea valve train with HKS cams, custome intake and exhaust manifols and all custom piping, to name all the main parts that affect the motors power out put -------------------- |

For your application, I recommend GT35R. Good luck with traction issues but dealing with traction is part of the fun.

I second the turbo makes 588whp on a 2jz mid-mild tune. and he said he was going to upgrade all internals.

QUOTE(celicast3sgte @ Nov 27, 2005 - 4:03 AM) I second the turbo makes 588whp on a 2jz mid-mild tune. and he said he was going to upgrade all internals. how much HP made on that motor is totally relative because of the different mods, the engine volume difference and MANY other factors.......so that pretty much has no value to his application....... but Dustin like i said online last night....(in agreeing with Jay) the GT35/40 series turbos are going to be the closest in terms of efficiency of the turbo, size of your motor, RPM range and boost levels for some real information ![]() using this turbo, at that specific trim.....bored out to a 2.1L motor the BOTTOM horizontal line is 10psi the next one up is 15psi the next one up is 20psi the TOP on is 30psi the farthest left TICK MARKS on each horizontal line is your motor at 2000rpm the MIDDLE TICK MARKS on the horizontal is your motor at 5000rpm the RIGHT TICK MARKS on the horizontal is your motor at 8000rpm so you can conclude this turbo will SLIGHTLY big for your motor but its a good starting point for your referances..... the details of what i did ~PR~ (14.7 + 10) / 14.7 = 1.68 bar (14.7 + 15) / 14.7 = 2.02 bar (14.7 + 20) / 14.7 = 2.36 bar 2.1 liters 2000/5000/8000 RPM 90% volumetric efficiency PR ~air flow in CFM~ (2.1 x 2000 x 90 x 1.68) / 5660 = 112.19 CFM ~air flow converted to pounds per min~ 112.19 / 14.27 = 7.86 (lb/min) then graphed approprietly..... |

true, i just commented that if it can supply enough air to pull a 2jz into that range a full tuned 3s should respond pretty well to the 35r

So is there any turbonetics turbo equivilant to that. i really like the one year full replacement warranty.
and btw i forgot to mention that i will have a stand alone engine management, and i won't have to worry about fuel supply. i wil be on stock ignition system though for now, hopefully that will be upgaded soon, -------------------- |

stock ignition with a standalone? what system are u getting? SDS has a coil pack or MSD 6a hookup, and MS has teh EDIS system... dont run stock ignition.

This is for a drag car, right?
I had a Turbonet 60-1 T04E. Worthless for street driving. Lags until nearly 4500 rpm on a 3rd gen motor. -------------------- Scott

yeah its actually already half paid for and the other half is sitting in the bank. and yeah its about 15K
it is a street/strip car. i will be driving my gf's RX8 most of the time on the street but the celica will get driven regularly. so i guess i should stick with the t3/to4e for quicker spool time. hopefully it will have enough power to give me what i want. i'm not sure. as far as ignition goes. anybody else have suggestions. i am starting to becom limted on cash what kind or money am i talking to upgrade it to what i need -------------------- |

Its here if you havent: Power Primer Stock ignition is fine well past 350whp. As for a t3/t4, understand that there are LOTS of variants of T3/T4's that perform very differently. What is your power goal and then we can recommend a t3/t4 which makes some sense. the t3/t4 i was looking at is the turonetics t3/to4e 60-1 ball bearing turbo as i stated in the first post.
I want to be able to get around 500 at the wheels on a dyno (500 hp setup) but i don't care to run with that much power. it will be tuned to about 100 hp less to have faster spool and just more low end power for street driving. -------------------- |

The KO Racing Street Brawler kit sounds like it will fit your needs. It has 2 size compressor wheels you can choose from also!
ATS sells the kit for 2300 shipped i think? -------------------- ![]() |
