I was just wondering how often does everyone drive with their seat belts on..
I know wearing a seat belt save my life a few time, but not wearing it also saved me from getting crushed once thus saving my life.

I always do. The only major accident I have ever been in almost was my last because I wasn't wearing it. A couple days in the hospital for a big lump on the head convinced me. That and your wind sheild is design to keep you in the car. biggrin.gif

I wear it all the time, The only time that I don't wear it is when Im moving my car around campus like to go to the rec center. But other than that its a natural habit to put it on, and if my pasengers don't I drive like a bat out of hell till they realize that they need to wear it for there own personal safety biggrin.gif. Then I drive normally when they have it on.

For all of you who don't wear it, you must not be doing any "intense" driving. I know that when I'm canyon carving, swinging back and forth, I'd get thrown outta my seat if I didn't have my seatbelt on. Plus, I got into an accident hitting a guy at around 60mph when he was stopped (long story) and w/o the airbag and seatbelt, I don't know what woulda happened.

don't really think about it. I put it on. My passengers do too. It helps during intense driving situations. . .the planned ones and especially during the unplanned ones.

I *always* wear mine... I don't even have to be moving. It's so ingrained in my head that even if I'm sitting in the car with the engine off, the seatbelt is on.

If you don't wear it, we don't go anywhere...if you refuse, I drive like an ass until you put it on.

I feel for all you people who don't wear them, seriously. Imagine you're cruising down the city street at 30 mph, that's rather slow. Something unexpectedly jumps out at you, causing you to smack right into it. You're car is now doing 0 mph, while you are doing 30. If you're lucky enuff to have an airbag, you hit the airbag at 30 mph, while the airbag is doing basically 200mph (something like that). That's gonna be one fat ass bruise/whiplash. If you don't have an airbag, you're ass is either smashing your chest into the steering wheel, or going right through the front window, or just hitting your head on the front window. Any of these situations is horrible. The safest thing you can do is just put your seatbelt on. It's not hard, it shouldn't restrict airflow or movement or anything other trivial complaint. I dont drive like an ass when people are in the car not wearing a seatbelt, I just don't drive. Pull over to the side of the road, and make them put it on. Good luck to all ya'll not wearing them...

I always wear my seatbelt. and regardless of what freak situation could happen where a seatbelt could inpede your escape I think its a good idea. my friend broke both his legs cause he wasn't wearing his belt, thats enough reason for me.

One time I joked with my friends: The only time I wear seatbelt is when I don't drive safe.

I always wear seatbelts.

Even if I sit in the car to clean it out or get something I automaticaly put it on... its a habbit, a very good habit indeed!

I was in a 35 mph accident (for some reason the airbag did not go off, kinda glad cause it would have prolly injured me, damn honda's) and the seatbelts locked up and kept me in my seat, I did not get one bruise, scratch or knic. I shudder at what could have happen if I did not have it on.

when i was 6 or 7 i was in the car with my dad, we were stoped at a light and this drunk driver hit us head on..i was wearing my seat belt, if i wasn't wearing it i might have snaped my neck against the dash...the seat belt keept me in the seat nice and safe.

then a few years after that i was with my dad again. stoped at another light and someone hit us from behind(i was in the back seat of the van) when the other car hit us i was thrown foward on to the floor. and the tire from the back fell right on the seat were i was sitting.....

My boy Vick was on his way to pick me up a week after he got his brand new Ford Exploer...When a taxi ran a red light, hit him and caused the SUV to filp over 8 times...If he was wearing his seat belt he would have been crushed.. the roof touched the the bottom of the front seats... he was thrown into the cargo area

Then there is my sister..she fliped over Her 626 4 times... they only thing that saved her was her seat belt it keept her in her seat and saved her life...

We've all heard of freak occurences where not wearing it saved someone. Those are the exceptions and that's WHY you hear about them. Much more time than not, it's better to wear it.. Most people get in 30mph fender benders, not head on collissions and multiple rollovers..

Always wear your seatbelt. There are too many stupid driver out there that will hit your car.

Ex) I was sitting at a red light and this guy hits me from behind going 35. I had my belt and and came a few inches from hitting my steering wheel ( its along distance since I'm 6'1) seat belt held me in place. The force of the blow and the seat belt holding me back when I did hit my seat I broke the damn thing. I Had to get a new seat b/c the backing wouldn't stay in a fixed positon. I don't mind the brokjen seat b/c hell I know i would have hit the wheel/ dash. etc.

You don't need to wear your seat belt for you b/c you you know your own driving. You need to wear it b/c you don't know how stupid/ drunk other people are driving...Their stupidity is not worth your health/life

it used to be that i didn't wear it...EVER!!!! Then I met my boyfriend and cause he was in a wreak and they flipped, he always tells me all these freak accidents and stories about cars flipping. I usually still don't think about wearing it....except for when my top's down (well not MINE, The CARS...Perverts! tongue.gif ). All those stories about how not wearing a seatbelt saved lives, If i didn't when the top is down, I can't just get thrown into the cargo area....I would just fall out.

Thats probably the only time I wear it!

If you get in a rollover with a convertible, you're pretty much done for anyways, seatbelt or not.

I always wear my seat belt, and I make my friends wear theirs too. One of my friends was killed a couple years ago when an old lady hit his cousin's car that he was riding in. My friend didn't have his seat belt on and died instantly. His cousin walked away.
