Alright, well guys I'm torn here. As some of you may know, I've been looking into getting a project MR2 to put a 1mzfe v6 into. Well I just found a 1991 MR2 Turbo for sale, $4000. 112k on the body, 4k on the rebuilt 3sgte. In pretty good shape, needs a little love but that's how I bought my Celica and that's what I like about cars, getting them and maknig them nice- my way. It's white with the blue interior half converted to black, t-tops, all that. Needs an oil level sensor and 2 of the crossmember bolts need drilled out and replaced but otherwise it just needs a good owner.
He said he might be interested in trading straight up for the Celica, so I'm not sure if I should go with this or not. I would love to have the MR2 so much but I would also hate to part with the Celi and get a car that's full of problems or something lol. -------------------- 1999 Celica GT

I would trade and have him give you some money. The MR-2 needs some work, yours doesn't.

The MR-2 needs some work, yours doesn't. well the Celi needs the timing belt done, but otherwise. The work needed on the 2 would be about the same hassle I think. And I think that once I put the time into the MR2 it would sell for a lot more than the Celi would. Well if I get this MR2 it won't be a project for a long time. Originally i was goign to sell the Celi to get a truck and an MR2, but I was going to buy a non-running MR2. This one would become my daily for a while. Value - wise, do you guys think its worth it? 94 Celi GT with 128k for the 91 Turbo? lol I know i'm talking to Celi fans here but still ![]() -------------------- 1999 Celica GT

Trade with cash, buy a Paseo or something as a daily.

Since you mention a truck, sounds like you want some kind of utility. If you trade the Celi, and have just the MR2, you will lose a lot of utility (esp. if you Celi is a hatch, if I remember correctly).

I would seriosuly just watch craigslist and such and see what comes up, a guy I know got a running 91 MR2 (5sfe) with 200k on it for 1k. I have gotten all 5 of my celica's (well recent ones) off there all 6th gens for under 5k for all 4.
