yes I'm at work thinking again ...

well here is what is on my mind at the moment ..

Is it easier for women to make money then it is for a man ? Or should i say are there more ways for women to make money then men? I know if a women an man hold the same job 9 out of 10 times the man will be pulling in more a week then the women does. But when i go places i see more women working then men. women can also use their bodies more to make a buck then a man does.

I'm not making this thread to say whats right or wrong , but more to get ya'll thoughts on this subject
do you think this is true or totall BS ?

i take it youre saying that a woman has a better chance of getting hired since you said men usually make more money at a given job, am i right? that was definately true at where i used to work, a restaurant. god there was probably each night maybe 2 or 3 guys out of a total of 15 servers on the floor. i didnt care smile.gif. i know thats not the case in every job though. i do feel that most areas involving customer interaction tend to favor women over men, maybe thats just me.

by the way, just curious where you work at 340 in the morning?

This is out of my current situation, and may not apply to everyone.

But I make a sh-t ton more than my fiance. I've noticed that he just "settles" for a job.. a job that is easy and doesn't require much work. And is basically a dead end job.

I, on the other hand, do not settle. When I was looking for a job, I applied to like 10, went on 5 interviews, got the job on all the interviews.. found out which paid more, and went to that job. I seem to be a lot more dedicated than him. Actually, I'm probably more dedicated (to a job) than all of the men I have been in a relationship with.

I also noticed that men spend more money on unpractical things (such as their car, no I'm not saying it's a 'bad' thing), while women spend money on more practical things such as groceries (haha, in my case), etc.

Yeah I have a friend thats like that. Hes going to school for multimedia, but hes been working at a forklift company and hurt his shoulder, so hes been out on workers comp for like 3 months. He knows he has to get out of physical labor sooner or later...think he looked for a job in his 3 months w/o a job...f no haha. And he rips on me for making almost twice what he makes (3X more when hes on workmans comp) and being able to chat online at work wink.gif

Im trying to make sure I understand what mac is saying...

Lets say a man & a women both have the same job...do the same thing, but the man is making more because he is a man...? Yeah I wonder if thats true on the apprentice between Trumps 2 "sidekicks" lol

I dont think its true mac.(if thats what ur saying) I think the company looking to hire hires whoever they like the best...male or female

Sex sells, thats all I can say. If a hot chick was to sell cars, Vs a guy. The chick will deff. sell more cars in less times even if she didn't know squat about the car she was selling.

the point i was getting is that women in most jobs have a better chance of getting hired then a man... but a man might be making more then the women at the same job... i say this cause there have been alot of jobs (mostly office jobs) that i have gone for an later find out a less qualified female gets hired over me.. it would bother me at frist but now i'm so used to it... for someone in my position if i don't presonally know the person doing the hiring i won't get a well paying job ..

in customer service women deff. have the advantage because they tend to have better skills at talking to people, and a friendly femail voice and smile is always nice. at my job there are very few women on site, (none my age at all in the company I know of) most are early to mid 30's + but its IT and wile a woman can be just as capable of IT work as a man, its generaly not a profetion that woman take.

I think it depends on the job, I have been to many job sites doing IT work, and in offices I gata say its a 2:1 women to men if not more. Every time I call a 1 800 number (of a company or something) 9 out of 10 times its a woman, in many cases its a woman who sounds as though there mid 20's.

Fact about being hired, your chances are infinantly better if you know someone already in the company with some respect, I would not have my job if my friend did not recomend me, and he would not have had his for the same reason. because there is always someone else out there with more exsperiance or more edjucation, its a matter of showing your the best applicant for the position, and having someone inside speak for you is far better that speaking for yourself.
