looks nice. hows the construction on the ViS hood? I think you're the first one here with one (and yes I know 1bwilson has a c/f hood but thats from fusion imports).

and honestly, how is the weight. wondering if its worth it for weight reduction purposes.

I got it for looks, not overall weight reduction purposes because speed isnt my first priority right now..i like the way it looks on a silver car so i am gonna keep it this way.

VIS Racing's hoods are great. They use the stock mounting equipment and it took like five minutes to put on with two friends. There is a bigger gap on the left than on the right and I just have to loosen the fender and move it up. I'll get around to it.

As for the pics, yes my camera is garbage. I'll change the batteries today and take some outside since it's nice out

A lot lighter.

I didn't weigh them but i can pick up the C/f through the hook on the latch and the stock one takes two hands and its still like hard to pick up...just to move it into the garage.

Im not really a fan of CF hoods but it does look clean. Something I would recommend though and it only cuz I have seen it done in person before is have a bodyshop get the paint code for your car and do a thin coat of the same paint over the hood... it give it a really neat look... kinda give it.. I dont know how to discribe it but you still see the CF good but ... hell I dont know It looked dope as hell when I saw it

The carbon hood is pretty sweet, IMO i like it better on dark cars eg. Black

But hell it looks good, and the idea of a thin coat of paint sounds good to!

It was a lil more than $500 to my door. Probably cheaper if you sent it to a business address not a residence.

It used the stock mounting equipment and latch and everything. Took three minutes, unbolt stock, take off..line up C/f, bolt back up. That simple

Looks good. I was thinking the same thing as Neverstop. If I were you, I'd get translucent paint (the same color as your car) and get a body shop to lightly spray a layer or so on top of the hood. It should give it a nice metallic effect.

I agree with NEVERSTOP, my friend has the blue 240 in last months Import Tuner, she has a blue pearl to match her paint and just the right amount of it that at certain angles it looks like it's a blue OEM hood, but yet at another angle, it is obviously carbon fiber. I think that gives it a nice illusion...just a suggestion.

i thought you had to put hood pins in cause there is no latch on it... maybe im wrong. Looks good though, and imo a 1-2'' drop would look sweet ass on your car

It comes with the stock mounting equipment, it's like the same hood but carbon fiber. Bolts right up and snaps shut with the same lock.

I am lowering the car 1.75 inches as soon as Memorial day is over. No places are open. ( I say that because i'm going there to get my new muffler welded on as well.)

94TRD, I think that a carbon fiber hood would be a pretty big thing no matter who it was that got it considering there is only a select few that have one. Imagine having a 6th gen celica and already being called original, then you get something that noone practically has. It feels good.
