hi, guys.. i got a lil question here, after readin how to install a custom cai, i heard alot about the bypass air valve. i was wonderin if that could help keep water from goin into the block durin rainny days or puddles of water or somthin?
ive been lookin foward to doin the cai, but im afraid of doin it cus my cousin who had an 03 sentra se-r specv had a cai and sucked in water durin a rainy day and the engine slowly started to die out after that.. im wonderin if i put the bypass air valve, would it help me prevent that? --thanks |

i have a cai and the filter is maybe about a foot away from the drivers side tire... no bypass valve. thats a myth. jk. when it rains, im sure some sort of water gets in there but by the time it makes its way up the piping and into the engine, it isnt much. you wont notice a difference and it wont **** up u rengine. now if you go into a flooded street and floor your car and have your throttle plate wide open, then i would tell you youre ****ed. ive driven in a flooded street where i can swaear the filter was drowning, lol, and i just elt the car roll without my foot on the gas so that the throttle is closed and nothing happened.
