Yesterday while driving, I had a very harrowing experience when the air duct that connects the vents from the center console to the driver's side vents fell down.

This has happened a few times before but I was usually driving on a residential street and was able to stop and remove it. This time I was traveling on the highway when it happened and at first I though "no biggie" but then it started to get wedged down by the pedals.

Anyway, has anyone else had this recurring problem like I have? I think I fixed it pretty good but it's a pretty lousy design that doesn't seem to fit very well.

...and I thought it was just me! It happened to me before and I was very fortunate to reach the break pedal before coming to a complete halt just about a foot or two behind a vehicle! If this is in the design of the car it was very poorly done and proves to be very dangerous as it can cause unneccessary accidents. Thanks for sharing your expereince and I hope that all 6GCs owners make a note of this!

Take the 2 panels off that are in front of the duct, there is 2 screws near the collom, and 1 screw beheind the kickpanel, and the other is in the bottom right, then there are 2 screws holding in the hood release. there is another panel beheind this one which is held on by 4 10mm bolts, take them out and it should fall off again, reinsert your air duct and you'll notice of the left side there is a little hole for a push pin, crappy design really, find a big screw, screw it into that hole, and fix'ed/

I DID notice that little hole on one of the ends of the duct. I didn't know what it was for but thanks for the tip!
