Ok, Its tough with FWD cars espeically our celicas, cause they got no traction and all with turbos. So its time to think outside the box and go with RWD cars, cause just about any engine that is RWD will work with the car. I was thinking somewhere along the line of putting a small Block V8 into a RWD corrolla. (1) These Dogmestic engines are found everywhere and are prone to produce more torque and power with the V8 N/A. The chasis will be light enough and can make more speed, but overall drifting is out of the question. The front will become to heavy if it will even fit and supension will need to be reinforced with some type of super supension.

the chassis may be light... but the engine isn't. A turbo 4 makes as much torque as a bigblock... but is much much lighter...

the corolla ae86 chasis wasnt made for to much more than 160 hp....i dont think you'll have much luck with something that weighs 4 times as much or produces almost 3 times as much power....sounds like a death trap =X

With umpty-million more dollars put into it. Cost is a factor, and as for the weight thing, an all aluminum block V8 (Think GM GenIII LSx based motors) isn't going to be ridiculously heavier than a Cast Iron block 4 cylinder with a bunch of turbo piping/intercoolers/turbo weight added. There's no replacement for displacement. -------------------- |
