As I got out of bed today to go to school. My Dad told me a semi had hit the celi. At first I thought He was joking cuz
1.) We live on a farm
2.) The Feed Driver don't come on Thursday Mornings.

So I got dressed and went to take a look at the Celi. Sure enough the rounded side of the rear end of the celi where the wheels go have been crushed in. Its not a major frame damage, but it's enough to consider the car totaled, considering how the rim is now dented and the wheel bearing....who knows. Its almost like someone took a Chainsaw and sliced a piece of the celi from the side.

The CULPRIT.....It was mom.

Apparently she backed up more than she should have and when I say this I mean she backed up 3 car lengths and hit the celi with the Toyota Van. I was so pissed, and since she is mom....I can't do anything now. My life is over, Im gonna go buy a 10ft rope and hang myself. At least I will go down with a quick snap.

If you were realistic from the get-go... it woulda been no biggie. The best thing to do is rebuild it better... At least now your parents would have no reason to deny you if you wanted to...

Take my experience for example... when I was 16 I swiped my Celica racecar into a wall at about 50-60mph, totaling it. I was PISSED... but my dad simply said rebuild and start over... make it better. I had my current 6gc already, so i started building it... but then I also needed a driver car, so I kept it streetable. Years later... I bought a junked up Corolla GTS (AE86) and started prepping that sucker for race. As soon as it was running, i rolled it.

Haha... then came the rebuilds which covered 5 different AE86's... up to my current race project which is a 20V AE86 (gonna go blacktop I think)... Things get much better... and much much faster.

If one of my parents hit my car I would make them pay me hardcore. Just because it is family doesn't make it okay. That would be like one of your parents burning your own house down, would that be alright because it is family?

It's not the end of the world. I know that our cars are everything to us, but only in words. You can always buy a new car, you can't buy a new person. These things happen, and I'm glad that you were not in the car when it did happen.

IT'S OK.

Take a deep breath, and move on. Go find another 6GC, and you'll be happy once again.

dude, don't give up. it doesn't sound all that bad. how about posting some damage pics if that's not too painful. and rebuilding is cheaper than buying a new car. and no car is as sexy as our's.

There's a lot of dumb things in this thread. lol. Shadow, I feel bad for you man. My dad hit my car once. He denied it forever. I had to fix it myself. Those things happen. Like Kwanza said, just rebuild. There goes you turbo project, at least for now. Good luck putting it back together. You might want to consider buying a Corolla and just putting your motor in it. Just a thought. This opens up all kinds of doors for you though.

Um, that would be My attitude, since I posted it, and i meant what I said, if one of my parents did it I wouldn't treat it any different, because I don't feel they (nor myself) should/would be entitled to special treatment because its family. Besides, thats how my parents do things to begin with.

Sorry to hear that, soulshadow. However, weren't you the guy that always complains about your car and your 20V engine swap? It's almost like she did you a favor. Lol. No offense, but I had read somewhere also where people were telling you to just sell your Celica because everytime you post, it's to say something bad about it or to complain.

Insurance wise, it would be totaled cuz although the damage is minimal and its just around the drivers side rear wheel section. It would cost probbaly around 3K to fix it at a body shop, but do it myself I could do it for around $100 Minus a new rim, hub bearing, wheel bearing, alingment, and what not. I'll try to post some later this week and NO it looks like Im stuck with the repairs cuz its family.

I AGREE.... even though it is his opinion....not EVERYBODY can make mum and dad pay for it. mum and dad will just say...who paid for it, who pays for insurance or whos house u live in or the dreaded....I BROUGHT U IN THIS WORLD... I CAN TAKE YOU OUT... my mom did the same thing (not as severe), YEARS AGO (6) and here i am with the same dent in the back with a band aid over it biggrin.gif i feel your pain man...and i would be looking for a rope, shoestrings or a belt, but youve got to think...there are just too many more good times to live just to end it early!

just my 2 cents...
