What's going down 6g!!! Im from MS and in my area there is a high concentration of mustangs and comaros!!! In the future I look to upgrade to a 4age or a 3sgte but now I have a wimpy ST and wouldn't dare go against any of those cars. I was just wondering what you guys out there with the highly modded engines where able to defeat on the streets.

i dont have a highly modded car, but i have beaten escorts(dont laugh) crx's and poorly drivin vtec powered cars, and my old 82 firebird 305 small block 4 on the floor that my brother raced me in

Celicatech.com has a nice sticky on "kills." You might check that out. There isn't much that Celica's can brag on. My best was a Audi Coupe something or other, with the inline 5. There are a few good race stories out there. Oh, I guess I beat a Turbo Laser. I don't think he was pushing it too hard. Or is was just in ruff shape. He had a BOV, but that doesn't say much.

You'll find that alot of people just sit and say street racing is ricey or stupid and stuff. Everyone does it, everyone boasts bigger wins than their car can do, everyone complains, its just a subject that always gets people saying "its not real racing" and "take it to a track." Good suggestions, but tracks are few and far between and people are human. If you get egged on, I think most people will just do it. Just keep ur head straight.

I agree supersprynt. I like to street race as long as it is "controlled" and people aren't drunk. Why in the h3ll does everyone talk about their celica's as being slow. Put some f**king money into it if its so damn slow!!! The 3sgte's and BEAMS can hold their on on the street I'm sure.

ya but we dont have beams or gt-4's, so our cars are slow compaired to other imports, which is due to the low amount of aftermarket support, if we had the same stuff that the civics had we would dominate

I don't think most people street race. Street racing is pretty stupid, yes I've done it but you make it sound like EVERYONE does. I've raced a couple times and prefer to take it to the track. There's open track days all the time and several tracks in the area to go to. And that's right that it's not real racing, it's being dumb on the street lol. If someone is revving their engine at me or egging me on I'll ignore them, then when they speed off and get pulled over I'm still goin on with my business. Have nothing to prove by racing the stupid kids around here.

lol for the money I would put into my Celica to make it halfway fast I would rather take that money and sell the car, buy a car that is already faster than the Celica would be with the 3sgte and have money left over. Just doesn't make sense.

Man whatever!!! Big ups to STREET KINGZ for whopping some azz!!! The simple fact that a dedicated person CAN make there celica pretty fast shows what a true celica fan you are. I read the post that Dustin15Brown sent me and see that there are alot of people that are for and against street racing. I wish I could have found the post earlier as I really didn't mean to stir up the same shizzle. I just got tire of all these ugly azz mustangs and comaros trying to race me in my sorry azz 1.8L. SOON I will swap my engine, add some headers, or something to make this thing faster. I got to get out of the "SLOW CELICA CLUB." I feel like its a group of people in Alaska with a box of matches who don't know how to light them to make fire.

Very funny bulldog!!! I don't care about beating everybody that revs their engine. I just wanted to see or hear stories about people on this site who have smoked some American muscle thats all. I understand that no matter how fast I made or THINK that I have made my celica, there is going to be someone out there with a faster car. I'm just very shocked to hear some people talk about how their car travels in slow motion and what not.

3SGTE swapped Celicas are pretty damn fast. Bottom line.

I know Bboy had some street racing action and reported no losses....and im confident that the swap can outrun just about any stock GST-GSX eclipse, WRX, Mustang GT's, Camaros (except maybe an SS), S2000 and just about any other stock Honda you can throw at it, a close run against an EVO, etc.....it could definately hold its own against alot of quick cars based on 1/4 mile figures and my own seat-of-the-pants evaluation.

However, that all totally depends on the driver. You get a bad driver behind the wheel of a fast car and a great driver behind the wheel of a slower car, you can be suprised as to what might unfold.

Anybody have some good kill stories I don't know about??

this is true. in my 7afte set up running 12 psi i beat a evo i live in NJ and i think we are the only state left with circles and were i live theirs a ton, i was on my way home from my Girl friends one night and i was coming around a circle and an evo pulled up next to me so i was like, ok lets see what this thing could do, i was expecting to get my A$$ handed to me because i saw he had an after market front mount and exhaust. right after the circle is a small bridge that goes up hill, so i flored it and because my cars an auto it dropped down to second i guess and flew over the hill doin like 50-60, i guess he didnt down shift fast enuf or didnt go in to a low enuf gear so i ended up passing him over the bridge and carried the momentum down the hill i hit about 80MPH and he was about 2 car lenghts behind me the hole time the the road went back to one lane and i kept flooring it and he couldnt keep up. he must have been a horrible driver.

i've beaten wrxs, rsxs, s2000, audi TT, srt4, non-turbo mustangs on 20-25mph rolling starts and some others not worth mentioning. b4 anyone says anything...i only do races with friends in CONTROLLED situations.
