On Friday night my bro, who works at a TOYOTA dealership, tells me that someone just traded in a 1997 ST, although its not a 25th aniv, its good. Hatchback, 5speed, and only 107,000.

I went over to his work today at 10, I enter from the work bay, some people thought I was a new employee!LOL.. I head over to the used car lot in the back.. and there it is. The first thing I said was.. "DAMN thats dirty!" I guess the old owner doesn't like to clean mad.gif

After a couple wipes and some buffin' the color shined. My next thought was," Im gonna have to clean this everyweek end.. (its white)"

The price ~3000, One of the top sales rep. (also a family friend) Is going to hold the car for us until we get it.. hopefully SUN.

So now im off to sell my 5GC. biggrin.gif

Wish Me Luck!
Pics coming soon, once its at my driveway lol

you'll definitely love the sudden upgrade from 5th to 6th..
unless you've never driven a 6gc yet but the biggest change (to me) is the shifting.
in the 5th gen, going from 1st to 2nd is like rowing a boat with one arm.

btw, good luck with the sale!

$3,000 is a damn cheap price for a 97 ST with only 107k... I'd make sure there's nothing fishy going on with that car (besides the clutch) before you buy it.

edit: I just bluebooked it. $7095. Heck... if it was in good shape I'd buy it and sell it right away... you could theoretically double your money. That dealer may not know what he has.

Then they probably know the reason that they priced it so cheap.

Maybe they're like the one toyota dealership I went to where they asked me if my celica was a 4 or 6 cylinder.

The reason why its so cheap is because of my bro's discount. We can buy a used car for how much the dealer gave for the trade in.. which was 2600. So my guesstimate is around 3000. cause they add some for taxes all that jazz

No pics yet. Im probably going to stop by the dealership today. My bro checked it out before he left work, the engine bay is clean, bottom of the car is clean. no slugging(sp?) or leaks so far. Tires are new, too bad their some unknown brand on steelies. Engine is strong.. even with the clutch issue.

I thought it was black. We got the car cleaned before bringing it hope.. Its cleaner than before but more cleaning is needed for it to shine.. the steelies make it look so uneven lol
