I only work 3 days at my job now ( 3 12hr. shifts) and I have 4 free days on my hands and am looking for a decent second job to help pay off some bills and save up some money for projects and the biz I'm going to start. Does anyone here have a good idea for a second job? Something that might pay pretty decent too? I'm looking for at least if $10 hr. if I can. I know this isn't a job classified forum but I'm looking for opinions.
Anyone else here have a second job? Thanks for any input ![]() -------------------- ![]() CLOSED on 25 acres! -shop coming soon.... |

im still in school, so this is kinda a second job... I work at the YMCA. I make 10 an hr, and i do absolutley nothing...most the time, i work out, or goof around on the internet...very easy simple money. If your older, you'd probably make more.
Other then that, id say find some kinda hobby, and try and make money off it. For awhile, i was designing web pages and selling them, and keeping them up-to-date. Simple stuff like that. Dunno if you noticed, but im a very lazy person when it comes to work. -------------------- ![]() I am now a part of the ihavemorethen16gc club! |

QUOTE(celicaboston1983 @ Mar 1, 2006 - 5:20 PM) go be a waiter for xtra cash waiting tables is one of the best jobs you can get as a second job. sometimes, it even pays off to have it as your only job. i worked at red lobster for 2 years, and served for about 7-8months of that. on average, i made at least 15/hr cash in pocket. on top of that, i'd get a check for 10-20 bucks at the end of the week. not much, but it puts gas in the tank. also, it's one of the most forgiving jobs as far as working with scedules. that's how restaurants work. everyone there has other things they need to do, so the managers are used to structuring schedules around people's lives. also, if money ever gets tight, restaurants are notorious about being so easy to pick up a shift to get extra payola, so that's another positive to keep in mind. the main downfall of the service industry is that people can be real assholes. if you're able to get passed that, which isn't that hard anyways, that's where the money is. after i got a "real" job, and worked 8-5 M-F, i worked at red lobster at most, 3 times a week. it was great, bc i'd bring in an extra 200 bucks or so a week, on top of my paycheck from my drafting job. however, they stopped working with my schedule, mainly bc the serving manager was a dickhole. it was very tiring, but worth it. my vote goes for serving tables. nothin beats the instant gratification of walking out the door at night with over 100 bucks in your pocket after a very short shift. -John- -------------------- |

There are not any places around here that does valet parking ( people here don't get that fancy.
![]() I thought about waitering but I feel like I already served my time in the food industry. Some people are just way to cranky when it comes to food. (plus i'm kinda sarcastic so..) I did think about suffering in it since it wouldn't be permanent. There isn't a ymca close enough around here. I wouldn't want to bar tend because I would want to drink instead. ( I quit awhile back and don't like being around it anymore.) What do you think a machine shop would pay out? I aslo thought about welding since I can do that ( and pretty stinkin awesome if I don't say so my self) Just none pay out like they should. I make more throwing boxes at my job than what alot of places around here pay welders. ( that sucks) Oh well, I'm sure I'll find something. -------------------- ![]() CLOSED on 25 acres! -shop coming soon.... |
