Congrates Dave...p.s Darin showed me some of the website....looks soo good, you will be pleased.

{Shameless promotion for DG_Performance}For anyone in or around the pittsburgh area or the north east for that matter, dave is one of the most knowlegdable car tuners I have met yet. You ever need anything done, he is your man. The guy can do everything and anything to any make and model.

Thanks guys,
The web page is being setup so i can offer people "not in the area" the ability to still get my products, but you will just have to pay for shipping charges. Which sucks cause shipping on some things can get up there. My low prices should make up for some shipping costs?

Special thanks to these guys that have always told me to open up a shop since day 1.
Thanks for the compliment Jack.
Thanks for the complimentary pics Def , maybe will can combine forces some day!

wow, this is going to be awesome. I orignially was going to get DG to do my wiring but at the moment I am waiting on trading out my 2nd gen 3sgte for a 3rd gen 3sgte. Lemme know what your prices for wiring is DG once you get your shop ready. Is it still going to be the same or a little cheaper since you'll have readily supplies to do it?

Prices have not be set in stone yet! Here is an example though...

I make a (3" Downpipe Back Race Exhaust) for the 3s swapped celica. I make it using ....Laser cut flange, flex pipe, 2 v-band clamps(avoiding any gasket leaks), all mandrel bends, a canister/muffler of your choice!
Cost is $450
Just parts alone to build this exhaust cause right around $350. I make the exhaust by hand and it takes me a good 5 hours to build it.
I am making 20 bucks an hour to do this!
What other shop works for $20 an hour rate???

There is a pic on my profile of my original race design that i am changing to the design i did for defgeph. It is a more straight through design and will be eliminating the old setup. Def has already posted a few pics of the prototype design i made him with a muffler of his choice.

Tina, you certainly speak the truth. wink.gif

In defense of all the wonderful 6gc-specific geniouses here on the east coast, there are about a thousand more great shops out on the west coast that really know there stuff. Theres no comparing the car scene here in New Jersey to the one in SoCal....so thats our advantage.

Oh, and also....this is great news Dave. I'm glad to hear that you're now doing things on a larger scale. Us EC guys are really spoiled to have some serious talent around. smile.gif

I hope i dont forget anything here....
1. I would love to combine forces with others some day,(we would be cornering the market and be able to charge whatever prices we want)
just kiddin...but yeah it is hard doing everything yourself and finding good help is not easy.
2. I am working on a price list and will post it asa i get it done.
3. I wish shipping was not so bad for you WC people and you non-US peole for big items. Smaller items are not bad though.
4. Yes, I do complete 3s swaps ....and any custom stuff you need!
5. Thanks everyone again for all your support!
6. Im 45 minutes south of Pittsburgh ( town called Charleroi 2 minutes right off I70)
Bonus:
I am always up for new ideas/challanges so if any of you guys have any product ideas that you want to run past me i could try to make even more products that you guys want! Pm me with those ideas so that topic does not take over the post.

Ok, i know this is going to sound really cut short but to make this as simple as i possibly can. basic gt to 3s swap...
pulling the 3s motor from the clip
pulling the 5s motor from the celica
make a hybrid harness
put the gt trans on the 3s and drop it in with harness
bolt it all in & pop the axles back in
you are looking at $1100 labor olny and a week to do a swap! (Wiring labor is included in that cost)
options you can add and i advise you do so....
Obviously you will need fresh fluids and that is not covered in labor cost.
New Clutch?
Resurface Flywheel?
Tune up (blets, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel pump, fuel filter)
engine bay clean up?
what do do about exhaust?
tmic or fmic?
all these extra parts are bought by you and i charge a little extra for installation due to more time involved.
Now ask yourself the question...What kind of swap do i want to end up with in the end ...and choose the options you want to add.
how cheap do you want to go about doing the swap?

Could do cams, some porting and polishing but would not have the tooling to do machine work to blocks...there is a shop around that i would have to have things like that done out of house. I am trying to stick to doing all thing in house at my own place.
The cost of machines for that kind of work is out of my range for a good while.

Bring up you car and drop it off for a weekend, or take a vacation up this way and rent a car for a few days, and then drive you new beast home after i get it done which is a great way to break in a new clutch cause you can put some good miles on it b4 you get it home and want to race everything i sight.
i am sure total cost will be less than the shop down your way will charge you
i can do celica gt 5spd to 3sgte swap in my sleep smile.gif
if you are serious about me doing a swap for you contact me via email and i can set you up

That would be incredible.. Hey man PM me a full price you think it would be for me to do a 3rd gen 3s from you. that way i have an estimate to be saving up for smile.gif

Actually i wont make a header for the 5s cause there already is a MR2 header. I can probably make you guys an adapter pipe so you are able to buy the mr2 header and install it on a celica. Sound good?
Anyone interested in this pm me and if i can get a person willing to do that, i will make a prototype pipe and see how it works????

Steve, i can do aluminum but it is kinda expensive and i only do half the work in house. My buddy has to do all the tig welds on it so i have to pay him labor cost on top of me doing all the cutting and sizing of everything.
I can only weld mild steel, aluminized steel, and stainless steel with the welder i have.

I have some decals already made up... If you look on my profile you will see one of my decals on my rear quarter window on the shot from the rear of the car. They are a bit smaller now but look the same. Anytime i do work on a car i offer them free so you can show support for DG P "if you want to". I appreciate anyone who sports my stickers cause i am not a big time shop at all and need all the support i can get!!
Many of you guys might not know this but i am a one man team. I take much pride in hand making every product i got.
Thanks a lot,
DG

What is the total cost for a GT to 3g swap? I am talking everything. You get everything, clip and all. I am looking at this for next year and really want a total cost.

Yes his exhaust is stainless steel...i'll get ahold of dave sometime tomorrow and let him know he might have some customers here. Since he got his Supra he has been busying learing the in's and outs of a 2jz, so he's been really busy, thats why he hasn't been on much

yes, I'd like to see the website. I don't know what I want, but if there was a website to browse I might see something I like.

actually, might be interested in a rear strut bar in the not-too-distant future depending on price.

I haven't seen DG in quite a while, and he hasn't said anything about his new shop since March... I wonder if it's working out?

i dont think he ever did a stainless exhaust. all his stuff was aluminized steel. also, his supra is NA. so there is no 2jz in there to learn about. smile.gif

this topic is really old. you guys might want to pm him to see if hes still doing this type of stuff. he sold his celica, so i doubt hell be around.

Um art his supra has a 2jz.....yes it's not the turbo version, but a 2jz none the less...smaller differences include no oil squirters at the bottem of the rods on the crank case, higher compression, and a few others things...top mount intake oposed to side, but you prob already know that smile.gif....and he hasn't sold his celica yet...infact the person he was going to sell it to still hasn't put any cash down. the reason he hasn't been around is because he started a new job here in pitt that has him working 40+ hours so

Sorry, i have not been around too much anymore. The web site never got finished and i took a pretty good job b4 i went all out with my shop idea. I can still do some custom stuff for you guys! If things work out in the future i would like to do something in the car industry, but for now i need the steady pay check. My days off are usually not days off. I am usually working on somebodys car on my days off so you can see how little time i get to get on 6GC as much as i used to.

I dont get to do car stuff as a full time job as i was planning on doing...but i still do alot of things on the side for people! I wish more people were car nuts like a lot of us but where i live there is not many people into cars??
The scene around me does not support a import shop so i pulled out b4 i went all out with what i had in mind. I am always up for new ideas and trying to make you guys some parts so pm me anytime if you want something. I like helping you guys out and making a few dollars on the side. I would live in my garage if i had a bed in there!!! smile.gif

Fabrication is what i love to do.... so I will always be making crazy car mods. Maybe one day i will get to do this stuff for a living???

Update from what was said above:
I just finished my turbo setup for my supra and it should easily run 12's on only 7psi of boost.
