just for anyone interested in an SRT-4 they are currently in the process of making a Twin Turbo kit that is very near completion. They are supposed to take it to the dyno and get some real numbers out of it and it should be for sale within the next few weeks. Now im definatly getting an SRT-4.

read the entire thread here.

1 turbo for lower RPM's, the other kicks in at higher rpms. Oh not to mention the estimated 450 whp it can produce. Everyone knows SRT-4's are awsome from a roll, but with this setup they are trying to make it awsome from a dig as well as a roll. There goal is a daily driver, 400 whp, running 10's. I dunno about you but that sounds pretty amazing for a car that only cost $20,000 brand new, and another $2000 for the kit. So at most $25,000 for a car that can outrun vette's, vipers, and pretty much everything on the street, sounds like a good deal to me.

ever hear of a 2step limiter?

you can run 1 big turbo and use a 2step on the launch. a lot of srt4 guys have it, I have it on my WRX. it puts a load limit at an RPM you select. you simply press and hold the button then floor the car. it will hold that preset RPM and make boost, while going 0mph. my car makes 7-10psi when i 2step it.

it not lag that hinders the SRT4 from a dig, its the FWD. slicks, suspension, and 2step help out a lot

oh and BTW, since that kit is using twin stock turbos, its not a sequencial setup. both will come on boost at the same time, which will be later than when boost kicks in on a stock srt4. especially if you go with the clipped option(only 1.2l of displacement to spool each turbo)

I'd buy an SRT4 in a heartbeat, if it were RWD and 1000x better looking, and not a dodge.

I dont see the point of putting that much power to the front wheels.....those cars already have wicked bad torque steer. And dont get me started with that POS neon with a turbo. same neon suspension...same neon looks....with a turbo.....the rear windows on manual not electric...ITS AMERICAN...

im sorry i just hate those cars.....i get a bunch of punk kids trying to race me when i drive my Z....they hurt my eyes...........argh...../rant

now do you hate the car or the driver? sounds like its a great setup and also will be a monster of a car when it is set up right. with all the advancements and after market support for cars you can get a FWD car to hook up just as good as any RWD or AWD. ive seen FWD cars set up properly out launch AWD and RWD cars from a dig. the way i see it this car is a great tuner car.

1 > the price of the car is great.
2 > a few bucks and you have a car that can basically out run most of the cars on the street.
3 > with the same amount of money you would spend on a honda/toyota/nissan/acura you can easily get a SRT4 do a few dollar mods and run with the big boys.

seems to me that the only reason most people bag on the car is becuase they know its faster then theres stock, and insanely fast when hooked up.

Ps . yes i know i cant spell.

If it came in a 2 door, it would be a lot more apealling to me. But I would buy one if that was my budget. Anyone remember the old Shelby Omni Turboes? Carol Shelby said he would put one up agaisnt a Shelby Mustang any day. This is shows that Dodge as been in the turbo game for a while, and they've made a couple fast 4cylinder turboes. The old Omni's aren't known for they're reliability in turbo form, but they kick but in NA form. They also get upwards of high 30s low 40s mpg turboed and really great NA.

seriously, take a FWD, AWD, and RWD, give them all the same power to weight ratios and similar suspension setups/mods.

the fwd one will be the slowest out of the hole, every time, given equal drivers

it will take a lot of work, and a large loss in driveability to get a FWD car to out launch an AWD car. i pull of 1.8 60ft's in my WRX on a soft launch(stock tires, springs and antilift kit). now that i have the STI 6spd, i now have a LSD front diff and 65% of my power is sent to the rear wheels. i have gobs of traction now where as before if i launch too hard, the front tires would spin

the best i have personally seen an srt4 with stock tires do is 2.2. few manage to pull off 2.0's. most of the FWD cars i have seen at the track with street tires get 2.5+ 60ft
