Click on the link
to see what Clarion Eq I am talking about. Now I have a couple of questions for you.
1) Does this EQ have a line driver? (it says that it has 7volt output, but doesnt say if its has a line driver)
2) Is it any good quality vise, will it distord my sound.

I am planing on adding a 4channel amp to my setup. I'll be running JBL 65Watt per 4ch to Premium MBquart speakeres and I want to use the EQ to boost my voltage (if it does have line driver) for my JBL amp + W6v2 sub. The thing is that my deck which is panasonic has only 2.3V preoutput (even though panasonic was saying that it has 5v). Well now I need to boost up the voltage to get better sound. I was planing on getting SoundControl Matrix but its $200 which is way more then Clarion EQ.
Thank you

Remember like 6 months ago, when we were talking about car audio and how you told me this was un-needed well I guess someone came to the darkside.

I have last years model, but it puts out 7-8v depending. Do Not use any of the decks EQ settings and purely threw this or it will distort. Its a great unit, no problems at all, I prefer my black on black vs. the black on silver look tho.

With a Line Driver keep in mind you are adding noise, distorion, and non-linearities to your system. You also run the risk of overdriving the amplifier inputs, which adds further distortions, and compromises the reliability of your system. If you set your gains on your amps correctly, and use quality matched components, you will not need a line driver, The EQ adds all the voltage to your system you would ever need.

Eh, like I thought this thing aint that good. So I guess I am gonna go with ACMatrix or I'll just buy an eclipse deck with 5V pre-out.

U went offline so I couldn't tell you what I am gonna be doing.
So here it is, I just talked to my other friend and I prolly wont get the clarion EQ because I already have 7eq in my deck. So my plans for now is get the 4ch and run it from my deck without any line driver. And I'll be getting a used AC OVERDRIVE line driver for my SUBAMP cuz it will bring up the volume and make it sound just right. So thats pretty much it for now. TTYL
PS The OVERDRIVE line driver that I'll be getting is used so used=cheap
