For Sale: 1994 Toyota Celica GT w/ 2nd Gen 3SGTE

Chassis has 187K, engine about 60-70K
Engine runs great, clutch is solid.

Exterior Mods:

C-One Style CF Hood
C-One Style Bumper
Type 404 Sideskirts
TRD Style Rear Bumper Extensions
GT-Four Style Riser Blocks
FlowLighting HID Headlights (Low)
JDM Taillights

Performance Mods:

2nd Gen 3SGTE
Front Mount Intercooler
HKS Turbo Timer
Custom Downpipe & Testpipe (Catless)
Greddy SP2 Catback
Toyo Proxes FZ4
TRD Quickshifter
Tien S-Tech Springs

A couple notes about the car:

1. Speedometer doesn't work, but it's probably just a couple wires and not the speed sensor.
2. I removed my back seats and spare tire for weight reduction, but it's all in my garage.

I'm asking for $6,000 o.b.o.

If you're wondering why I'm selling her... Let me tell you, there is nothing wrong with the car, it's my pride and joy and was babied from day one. It was a tough decision, but I just need to move on. frown.gif

Chan, why are you selling? Didn't you just finish her? Sorry to see it go but good luck with the sale.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

I'm selling her because I want a comfy daily driver. I hope she goes to a loving home... and is well appreciated. I have a couple people interested already in it, and they want it as a weekend car. If I could afford to keep this 6g and my daily I would, but I can't so...

Yes I just finished her... but after driving her for a week I realize I can't drive this everyday to work. I have to run a lot of errands at work. Engine runs great, I'm not trying to sell anyone a lemon. I just went to a meet with a bunch of people witnessing the car being driven.

Also, I will not part anything out. If you want something, buy it from the new owner. I'm selling the car as she sits now.

To be honest, with just finishing it and selling it, then getting mad when people ask why you are selling it sounds kinds fishy...

When did I get mad?

To be honest, if you think it's fishy don't buy it. Did you just post on my FS thread to say that? I invite anyone to come out and test drive my car. I just drove it to work which is 20 miles from my house and it ran perfect.

Here's my reason for selling, if you guys are dying to know...it's not because I had post-swap problems, not because I'm broke... nothing like that... I want this car:

http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/car/142331299.html

Like I said before. I'm getting a comfy daily driver, a Solara. I've answered plenty of questions to potential buyers already through PM.

If you're not interested in buying my car, please don't clutter my thread. Thanks.

Hmm this is nice, I was actually thinking about building me this but since it's for sale... Just curious... Why don't you referee it to get the BAR sticker to make it fully legal? The 3sgte was in the U.S. until 95 (mr2) so therefore a 94/95 should be a legal swap correct?

i think the fact that you welded your intercooler piping together should shut all the skeptics up period, not many people would do the swap terribly then spend money making a welded intercooler piping setup!

I sold him the 3sgte swap and FMIC set up like that, already welded. It was done up north by Evolution in Sacramento. The car is GREAT people, he's not shady, its a great buy.

But if I were you guys, and if you are truely interested, I would jump on this buy soon, before it goes up for sale like on EBAY and it sell for $8,000 +. So, $6000 DOES NOT sound like a bad price.

6000 bucks is like chump change to me. i make that much every time i blink. but the parents don't see why i should get another celica that is almost identical to mine. plus the fact that it has an illegally swapped turbocharged engine. actually they don't know about the illegal part. they just don't want me driving something faster than 110 hp. sorry... good luck with the sale though. actually, i'm kinda hoping you'll keep it. so then maybe you can let me drive it at the next meet.

I know you said that you don't want us posting if we're not interested in buying, but I hope this will help you sell your car....

To those of us in California:
You CAN SMOG a car with a different motor IF:
The engine is a California SMOG legal engine (the engine came from anoter car that you COULD have SMOGed here. JDM's are not Cali SMOG ready).
The engine comes from a similar type of vehicle (Passanger vehicle vs Commercial vehicle).
The engine came from a car the same year as yours, or newer (this gets tricky with production years overlapping).
The engine has all the original smog equipment from donor vehicle.

If the swap meets these qualifications, you call up CHP and tell them you want your car reffed (or blue stickered). They will set you up with an appointment to go into a CHP Ref place which will check your car out (mostly making shure it still has all the original smog equipment) and then put a blue sticker in your door jam. Then you go to local SMOG shop and smog it.

My old room mate did this with his Honda (put an Integra motor in this Civic), so I know it can be done legally. If you have questions on this, check out the DMV and CHP web sites.

haha, sarcasm. i'm poor and need my mommy and daddy to pay for it.

haha, probably not sarcasm.

the part about making 6k bucks of chump change when i blink was sarcasm. needing mommy and daddy's money is true. anywho... quit jacking the guy's thread. his car is awesome. sexy plus the speed to match. worth a lot more than 6k. bump for chanh55.

Well... I've been driving her for a week now...to and from work, problem free I might add. I must admit, I hate to see her go, for obvious reasons.

I haven't driven many cars, but the ones I have driven: my bro's s2k, or the cousin's g35, 350z and mkiv tt... this car offers the same thrills for a fraction of the price of those pricey monsters.

It's like going from 56K to Cable or Broadband internet... swapping in a 3sgte is no different, once you go 3sgte, you'll never go back.

But I've made my decision... my car will live on through her new owner.

Sold to forkee420's Dad for an undisclosed amount. He's had just about every generation Celica there was... I glad it's going to someone that loves Celicas more than I do.

I'll still be around. =)

Just received a phone call from the buyer stating the car didn't fly to well with the wife. Buyer was really excited about the car and even gave me a deposit. Well bad news for him, good news for you. Buyers act now... don't let this one slip away again.

I helped Markie install his bumper and sideskirts over the weekend, we took a break and I took him for a spin in my Celi. Lets just say he was bracing for dear life because it was so fast and when I asked him if he wanted to drive her he said, "It's too fast, I'm scared to drive it."

Also, cheesylobster took it for a spin unattended for 10-15 mins... when he came back, all I saw was a big smile on his face...

Forkee's dad loved it after driving it for 5 mins... and was ready to buy, but as you know... his wife didn't like the idea or something.

Just a little proof to the people thinking I'm selling because I'm having post-swap problems....

dangit only if you were closer -(n didn't already have plans 4 a swap)- $5k --- dannnggg - that's a steal -no offense, but - are u crazy? your celica deserves more respect than $5k - you must really want that solara --

if i was to buy this - i'll feel bad giving you just $5k for it - my conscience wouldn't allow it -- hope someone jumps on this soon

What you gonna do ship it back? I have all the paperwork ready, just need to fill in the new owners name and stuff, and to come out here to sign them... by the time you find a plane ticket and fly out here, the car will be sold. unless you wire me the money =) then technically you already bought it.

lol.. chacha jokingly said, "wanna trade cars?" So I replied ok... because I wanted a manual, then he backed out. Even though I was serious... he backed out as he probably thought I would've said no... good times.

anyways... thanks for the line chacha, keep me posted on your bodykit install man. smile.gif

He only had enough to bring it to a city 8 hours away from his hometown, it costed him 850.00 I believe. He drove the rest of the way.
