guys, i have a problem. ive had my celica for maybe 2 years now. i love it. everything about it except power. i was going to spend about 4,000-6,000 bucks on an engine swap, beams or 4age blacktop 6spd. and now, i run across this: http://releasethetwo.com/tc/index.html
im real confused. ive always like the tc too and it has decent power from factory. i mean, i ran across a thread about 1/4 mile times for the 3sgte and even that monster stock pulls off 14-15 seconds. the tc stock does about mid 15s.... can anyone possibly provide me with some approximate WHP numbers and track times for the 3sge beams and 4ageblack 6spd in a 6gen celica? i think this'll help my decision. thanks. -------------------- ![]() |

defgeph ran 13.9 with stock water to air intercooler at 12 psi, im sure he will hit low 13's if he can get better traction with 15 psi

damn, that tc looks pretty sweet. but i think i liked the 1.0 version better, probably cuz of the color. tc's are nice, my gf wants one. i taught her to drive stick so she might get a manual one. i'll probably be the one driving more often. but it'd be a nice lil upgrade driving a somewhat fast car every now and then. anywho... i say go with the swap. you'll stand out more.

well, theres only 2550 of those RS2.0 being made. so eventually people will crash and stuff and the number will be lower. so technically, i'll still be 'rare'. DOGGY, when u say low to mid 13s, you're talking about Beams 3S or 3SGTE? I want to know what Beams can do!

the TC is allright, it's a chick's car, a chick magnet
the 4age 20v is over-rated hp wise, according to the people at club4ag, toyota over-rated the hp at the crank, its actually a lil lower, and i heard the black top's 3rd gear is t3h suck This post has been edited by pure_dx: Mar 29, 2006 - 10:46 AM |

wait, i dont get it. its a chick car but then u say its a chick magnet??... please explain. i thought the celica was a chick car too. now that i think about it, every car is a friggin chick car. mustangs, integras, etc. what makes the tc a chick car? im just curious as to how u came to this conclusion.

The tC looks nice, and apparently, you can get a supercharger for it.
However, most reviews (from auto magazines, sites, etc) say that the response of the tC is sluggish, and the handling feels heavy & unresponsive. I'd pass on buying one, honestly, if this is toyota's version of sports car, it looks like the best went away when they discontinued the 7th gen's. |

i would've wanted to see at least one more generation of the celica. maybe they'll bring back the celica a few years from now like they're supposedly doing with the supra.

I bet Jeff runs a better 1/4 with 12 PSI depending on his tires and suspension. I bet 15 spins too much.
