go to jegs.com, buy a racing helmet. that way you MAY survive when someone tries to pound your head into the ground. also there is a parts database on the main division of this site. try there.

I am for JDM tails, but there is an orange piece inside the light, the corner section. Does anyone know if/how you can remove that piece w/ out damaging the unit? Let me know...thanks.

Only way you might be able to remove it is by throwing your tails in the oven and heating them up to the point where the glue holding them together gets to the point to where you can pry the pieces apart. After that just remove the inner piece if it's an added section, but it might actually be part of the housing so you can't remove it. Don't know until you try. So get to it!

what neipas is saying is to do it the same way as making the 96-99 corners become "clear corners". hey, go check and see if you can see a screw or anything in the back by the yellow lens, if not i doubt you can.

ok, i hate to be a bitch, but that's totally edited. if you have seen the movie the stupid civics they drive to hijack the trucks don't have altezzas.

as for the JDM tails, you can do it i'm sure, but at 350 a pop, i'm not messing with them.

i don't think that it's just Toyota people. I know like 75% of the people on the DSM Boards i browse hate them and the only reason i don't like them is because they are now made for every fricken car i see and it gets annoying.

I'm going to risk my neck by saying that the main reason most of the people here hate them so much is because they don't make them for our cars.

I think they look ok - much better than most of the lights they are replacing, and tell me seriously, if they were readily available for our cars, none of the members of this site would go buy them! You know you would..... biggrin.gif

I dunno how it is in Australia, but here in here US the "euro style" light is the calling card of the typical ricer. Its practically standard equipment for them along with rediculously loud exhausts and generic stickers. Personally I don't want to be seen as one of them as they are the ones who give car modification a bad name (*cough* 2fast2furious). Just my two cents.

Altezzas look good on lots of cars. It's just that they don't look good on lots more. It's really just my preference though, I don't think they'd look good on my car.

I'd be very interested in Carbon fiber tails if they made them. I don't mind my stock lights, but I'd like to have something a little more stylish in the back.

Having clear style tail lights and the whole 'rice' scene is totally different.
A lot of new cars come with these lights now and don't forget it was actually Toyota who first made the Altezza, NOT Honda . rolleyes.gif
Rice is about putting Type R stickers on an '89 Civic and everything else they do with them.

yea dude, rice is a mentality, not a set of tail lights. Rice is putting crappy stuff on your car. and the truth is most aftermarket taillights are crappily made. Rice is saying your car is something that it isnt (Type-R stickers). Rice is thinking your piece of crap, 100hp car is as fast as a ferrari. Rice is misrepresenting your car (interfoolers, BOV sound devices). As long as its clean and not misrepresenting i say it isn't rice. I have seen some civics that look really good and have 'gasp' altezzas, but it is extremely rare. the lights usually dont fit/ are shoddily made, but some people work that extra bit to make it look clean, and if theyve done that and the lights work with the car... more power to em. If this guy can make altezza lights for his celi, or get them custom made and really wants them and wants it to look good, i'm sure he will, but you can bet that how it looks is gonna depend on his amount of determination. you all talk about how being original and different is what makes the car look awesome. and then what do i see? everyone who has the cash gets JDM tails and JDM projectors and a Veilside-ish bodykit. i know that is fairly close to all we have. I doubt he will, but if this guy DOES get some custom altezza lights, either custom made w/ his existing tails or gets some molded in. its HIS car, let him do what he wants and im sure itll end up looking clean as hell or else he just wont show us.

Yea, fake CF does look like crap on my face

I completely agree w/ Pvc99gt, I would guarantee that if they sold shoddily made Altezzas for our Celica's, they'd be selling like friggin hotcakes. All of you deny the fact, but I've heard MANY people on this website, more originally than now, that have tried to "petition" a company into manufacturing them. Now on the positive side, the lack of aftermarket products has also made many of us (including myself) more innovative and creative with our cars and we've done some pretty tight custom work that's all out original. In closing, don't hate Honda's because there are companies that make **** for their cars...hate the unoriginal bastards that drive them and put Type R stickers, loose body kits, and those GOD FORSAKEN windshield wiper fluid dispenser LED thingy's....DAMN I HATE THOSE.

i think it was in another post that some ppl tried to get signatures or something to get a company to make them. and i think the response was that the company will look into it.

IMO when the company does their research they look into sites like this for what the most would say about altezzas or what not. And when they see that most wont support the idea of them then i think that they wont make them.

Dont flame mo that. thats what i would do if i was a company who would me making such things.

How hard would it be to custom fit supra tails into the celica? Just out of curiousity, i'm looking a for a new job once i get the engine in. I dont like my current tails, but i dont like the jdm versions either. Would it take working with fiberglass or something? Anyone have any ideea? Maybe this has been covered before, but i sure as hell havent read anything about it, i guess i'll try a search for it momentarily... Anyway....
