well this is a probably a re-post but what rpm do you launch at when you race...come on guys i know everyone on here has done it and will be doing for or till when ever..but yeah whats the best numbers to launch..rpm wise i mean...SWAP AND NO-TURBO...

What? Drag? Street? Rally? AX? It all depends. This is covered somewhere in "your first day at the drag strip" I think.

there are a lot of factors involved, flywheel/clutch type and strength, ect ect.
for me i launch at about 5500 rpm with a spec stage 3 and a fizdanza 10lb flywheel for the drag strip |

That launch is for a drag** Never raced street, rally, or AX. Not to mention our torque peak is 4400RPM so anything over it and your torque band/curve would be flat. i launch at 3.5 k.... pretty much the bottom of the 5s powerband... which is where you should launch on any car

it depents on your max torque rpm..

Depends how badly I want to hurt my clutch.
Wheelspin isn't an issue for me. Bogging down certainly is. Full bore is usually 5K+ and a fairly agressive release (although not a sidestep). -------------------- JDM ST205

With new tranny spec 3 and flywheel... 3sgte/e153... I tryed to launch from 4k yesterday and it was perfect. When I had the old setup with the puck clutch and the s54 I would do nothing but burn tire launching around 3k.

i never lauch my car. 90% of the racing ill do is from a roll anyway and a hard lauch is a good way to break stuff.

Hey tuffy you have quite a strong bite with that 3s, I was wondering if you did the shimless bucket conversion while doing headwork. Also what octane at what PSI do you usually run in your car with the gt35r, im finding some serious problems cracking 425rwhp on my mr2 and would love some advice if yoiu had some. |

You guys are launching too high. For general dry pavement and typical tires, hold it at 1500rpms and dump the clutch--zero wheel spin and no rpm loss, just straight power and traction. You'll have no trouble smoking almost any car up to 40mph.

Ditto - our cars are unique in that they get torque down low - most 4 bangers need high RPM launches - our (stock) celicas don't need to be reved much. ~J~ |
