So I finally got my exhaust done. It's such a HUGE difference...I had no idea. my old exhaust had so many leaks, was crush bent, and was only 2 inches...if that. now it sounds so much better, not too loud and has a great low growl to it. Im boosting ~13psi now. kinda scary at times.

now my mods list includes: (92 JDM Mr2)
MBC (@13psi)
Walbro 255lph
ACT Stage 2 clutch w/ fidanza flywheel
Full 3" exhaust!!!

Also, Im pretty sure I hit fuel cut a few times, but i have the vac hose plugged going from the turbo to the t-vsv so I shouldnt have fuel cut should I? maybe im misunderstanding something about how it works. i have an hks FCD but its not installed because since my harness had been re-wired twice, i cant tell which wire i need to splice...is there a link to the pinouts for the 92 jdm mr2 ecu somewhere?

comments? suggestions for my next mod? i'll have a chance to get it dyno tuned at a place in Columbus in the next few weeks. any idea how much power i should have at the wheels with these mods?

That doesn't effect fuel cut. Your fuel cut is still at 12psi you have to raise your fuel cut to change it.

take the vac line that goes to the map sensor (turbo presure sensor), disconnect and cap oof the 2 ends. you will have no fuel cut. just keep an eye on your boost gauge.

3in exhaust is a must for any turbo car. i love mine.
what muffler did you go with for your exhaust?

i stuck with the same Ractive muffler that i already had because it always had the best sound out of most others that ive heard.

i'll probably just turn the boost back down a little till i can get it tuned. there arent many dyno's around here so i'll make due with 11 or 12 psi...plenty.

if you have your old muffler.....isint the muffler smaller then 3in causing a bottole neck?

yeah its probably a minor bottleneck..the inlet isnt quite 3" but its still bigger than the rest of my old exhaust. i'll look into the magnaflow.

most of it was done by a small non-tuner auto repair shop...the had no experience with it, but stuck with it and did a good job IMO. some of the work was also done at a place called Gearheadz...overpriced to say the least.

anyways, if/when you're ready to do the swap, they're in Perrysburg called Express Auto. Great guys, and now they have experience with the swap after troubleshooting mine for 2 years

I take it that none of you guys that have done the 3s-GTE swap suffer from boost creep with the 3" exhausts? in the UK if we use the standard ct20 on a 3" system we normally get boost creep, it might be down to us having 99 ron fuel. It happened to me the other day and went up to 21.4 PSI then I hit fuel cut and spat a big flame out of the back smile.gif I think the 2 solutions to this problem is either to fit an external wastegate or a restrictor plate in the exhaust to increase backpressure slightly so the wastegate can work better.
