Tein super street suspension questions?

Im considering of getting tein ss for my car, but Im still having some doubts about it. I just don’t want to spend the much cash if im not going truly to be satisfied with it in the long run….so basically im asking for some words of encouragements to get them.

Just to clear my thoughts about it:
-are they a TOTALLY plug and play upgrade?
-the ease of installation?
-im planning of getting it through ebay, so which sellers are good to get them from? Or any other recommendations?
-any tips and heads up?
-and would love to see some pics of your celica fully lowered with the tein ss on stock rims if possible

Thanks………

-its not a plug and play but it is a bolt-on and play

-this depends on your skills, i suggest liquid wrenching the bolts the night before the install. to me, it was pretty easy.

-dont get them through ebay go to www.rctperformance.com or call 718-321-0980, ask for ryan tell him dennis recommended you. he'll hook you up.

-the tip is to make sure you can break all the bolts on all corners before you install a coilover. in other words make sure you dont have seized bolts. once installed give the coilover time to "settle" and break in, the ride will be harse at first.

hope this helps

you will love them, they are easy to install just bolt them in. A word of advise, get yourself a Deep 17mm socket for the rear shocks, When you go to install the top hats, you will find the ajustment screw (damper adjuster) Is really tall making it had to tighted the nut down against the top hat. I used a couple of washers in between them. It sounds complicated but its really not, ill try to get pics up for it. PM me for questions.

And if you want a little more motivation, look at my profile pics wink.gif

Oh believe me, you DO want them. wink.gif These babys are by far the best thing I've done for my car. It completely changes the feel of the car to that of a tight and balanced sports car, you can raise and lower your ride height easily and adjust the dampening force at the turn of a knob. Also you can slam that bad boy and it just looks sick, IMO.

It's definately stiffer and more harsh a ride quality than stock, but its very livable as long as you dont have very poor condition roads in your area. I drive about 60-70 miles a day everyday going to and from school as my daily driver in all sorts of conditions and these Tein SS have handled any sort of driving very very well.

If you want the best suspension you can buy for our cars, then you want a set of these. Installation is very straightfoward and is a bolt-on deal....if you prepare any rusted bolts the day before(especially the sway bar end links in the rear)with some PB Blaster or similar penetrator then you'll have an easier time. Make sure you have a good breaker bar and something for leverage if you need it, some quality wrenches, and a deep 19mm socket to secure the bolts on top the strut to proper spec.

Heres some photos of my car with the Tein SS coilover with stock wheels-

Thats super cheap. I dont think anybody has gotten them that cheap. They're 1200 on ebay, thats the cheapest I've found.

I got mine for a little more than that.......but mine were off a member here brand new, not from a website. Maybe thats where you heard $800 from. I've only seen them for around $1200 new.

Tovejas, the settings in that pic are the standard settings they reccomend before installation. They can still go lower, theres at least another inch/inch and a half before youre at the lowest setting.
Thats about as low as I'll go on stock wheels because otherwise I'll be scraping everything and you'll have zero suspension travel = bad for handling.

Erik you'll love those things man, good luck. thumbsup.gif Thanks for the comment BTW, its my "Commer shot". lol

well for keep in mind that $800 is too cheap, there are many fake/copied products out there so if it sounds too good to be true maybe it is.

im not advertising but check out www.rctperformance.com ask for ryan and he'll hook you up. i suggest this over ebaying and any other e-commerece sites because if there is anything wrong with the product you can always get an answer from a store front business.

just my 2 cents
