The wheel will fit. The tire is way to wide. You might be able to get it on there but it probably will not be safe.

They will clear, you might have to run a little spacer a few MM but dont worry about it the handleing is amazing.

The rim width range for those tires is typically 8.5-10". On a 7" rim, the sides will be very pinched in and may not make a good seal. Also, the contact patch will suck because the tire will be so convex at the apex. I recommend that you find a good set of tires that will fit. Run those at your own risk.
BTW, why would you want that wide of tire on the back? Do you have a GT4? If not, running wide tires like that on the back of a FWD car is.....silly. -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |

Feliz Cumpleaņo's!
the widest i heard a member here use without problems was a 245 on a 8inch wide rim, i use 215 and even then the car turns without loosing grip, just get some good rubber in 225 or something. |

Happy birthday. If you want the "look" of a big tires in back, get some big rims to put them on so that you will be safe.

QUOTE(celicomx @ May 30, 2006 - 1:16 PM) i will get some spacers like 8mm for the rear and 5mm in the front that's gonna make them see a litle more wider You really don't have much idea with respect to modding cars do you? 5 - 8mm spacers is a really good way to increase the loadings on the wheel bearings which often leads to premature failure. If you're desperate for wide rims, buy yourself a car which is designed to use them. For starters, 255 tyres and 8mm spacers are not the way to go. If you want to increase grip that badly, then go for stickier tyres - such as DOT approved road legal slicks - like Toyo RA1s fo example.
Simply putting on wider tyres, rims etc will not imrove handlng etc. In fact, it can often make things worse. Tramlining is often an issue with wider tyres and increasing the track (by fitting spacers) can affect how the car turns etc. As I said earlier, all 255 tyres will do is give you extra bragging rights with your mates - it won't improve driveabilty. 255's is not a good idea, the tire will be tucking into the tire, which first of all won't be safe, second of all, will look weird.

IMO there is NO way a 255 wide tire will seal on a 7" wide rim.

IMO... Depending on what you looking for?
If attention seeking, I think you should find a 18' or 19.5' rims with whatever width tires, I mean which fit the rims. If you lookng for performance, like accelerating, you should used your stocked one 15' or change to 16'. The most I will put a 17' with 215-225 tires. Remember, don't try to put yourself in O'neil or Yao Ming's shoes. -------------------- |
