well i know you can pull the top vents off, so the other two might have clips

what I'm trying to do is to paint the inserts on my dashborad.

well, I think it would be easier to get it done, if you īd remove the glove box first...lie under the vent and you will see the clips!Try to lever it by using a screwdriver or something like that...perhaps you will need someone pulling it out while you are lying under the vent! ;-)
