REVIEW:
Kenwood KAC-7252 (the amp I bought when I knew nothing about amps).
I bought it because I loved the 500RMS but as I found out it distords at about 200Watts and does
not produce clean bass. It sounds like rattling cans in a trunk. At first I though it was my sub which
was Alpine Type-E at the time, so I bought Infinity sub but it didn't change anything. Then I bought
JBL BP1200.1 and it made all the difference with sound. I guess KAC-7252 is good enough for people
who dont like bass and want it only at low volume where you wont know where the bass is coming from.
But overall I think Kenwood is a shame to be named an amplifier.
JBL BP1200.1, and its just an amazing sounding amplifier, especialy for its price. You can easily
have one of these amps for $200 used. Its not the prettiest of amplifiers but it does the job well. One thing that you
need to keep in mind when getting a 1200watt RMS amp is that your cars stock electrical system wont be able to give you more then 600Watt's unless its upgraded with a different alternator. And tell you what, this amplifier is AMP hungry, at 1200Watts it wants 148amps which is way more then average stock alternator that can only produce about 75amps then you add the resistance on the wires and you will probably get only 40amps in your trunk.
Polk Momo C500.1, OMG I just put this one in my car and it sounds amazing. I get this amplifier because I wasnt planing on doing any modifications to my electrical system so there was no reason for me to have 1200watt amp when I cant reach the power. So this 500Watt RMS amps is just what doctor ordered. It is just as loud as JBL (again because of my electrical limitations). Polk is way more cleaner, the bass comes sharp and strong while BP1200.1 had muddy sounding bass. Polk is about half in size and has EQ (which should never be turned on because it just sux).
Conclusion.
Kenwood is a piece of **** amp that people should just ignore until Kenwood starts making good amps. JBL is an amazing amp for the price but I think it was made for bass headz so I'd say its an SPL amp. Polk momo is mostly SQ because it has high signal-to-noise ratio which beats JBL pretty bad. I dont feel like getting into all the technical stuff about these amps so if you have any questions please ask and I'll gladly reply wink.gif
