So after months of researching and changing my mind .. I finally got rims. Went to Michigan on the weekend to Discount Tire and got 17" Konig - Sideways rims wrapped in 215/40/17 Falken ZE-512 tires. They were sooo friendly and nice there! Now all I have to get rid of the damn rust that makes the car look ugly and put on all the body parts I have in my basment.

How can I get rid of this rust on the wheel drum and calipers, just spray paint it ?

Do I have to sand em a bit first or can I just spray right on them?

Hey man. What i would do is sand them down a bit, to get rid of some of that rust, and then spray a primer coat on top of that before you paint. That way the rust doesn't come through if it doesn't come all the way off after sanding.

nice rims man. now you have to get rid of that rust like i did. just sand them down a lil with some steel wool. then spray with some primer and then some high temp paint. try not to get any on the disc. other than that, looks good.

Yea, I gotta save up for some springs now ... Just wasted the rest of my money a month ago on the JDM tails like snap said.

How much should I drop the car, just 1" on front and rear?

Realy nice rims.... suits very well...
I sprayed my new discs, using zinkspray, stands heat pretty well and prevents rust..

For calipers I'd paint them using a paintbrush, much heavier coat and it doesn't need to be a smooth surface to look nice. And you don't even need to remove the wheel if you are careful!
