and I'm so not ready emotionally for it...

My best friend is going away to the army, my other close friends are going away to college far away... Meanwhile, I'm just hanging around here going to a community college... I'm going to miss everyone terribly.

But I'm also kinda excited to get into the world. But I dont wanna grow up... frown.gif

How was your experiences leaving high school? frown.gif I know its not gonna be easy for me... The best times of my life up to this point were in high school...

Leaving high school was awesome - didnt even go to my graduation cuz I thought that was lame personally. I dont regret it. I started college in the fall and realized working 60hrs and going to school full time wasnt right for me so I picked working over school. Now 3 years later im back in school and working 40 hours a week and own an event planning company with a friend that is putting on 10 car related events by December so i love being in the world. I dont talk to anyone I went to high school with and thats fine with me.

Congrats on Graduating and have fun! :-) Shall we expect drunks posts tonight?

after hs...
some of my friends started working...
some stayed in hs some extra years...
some dropped out...
some went to other universities far away...
some went into gangs...

i went to a university out of town as well...

so for me... a lot has changed after hs...

but i guess these ups and downs in life is what makes life interesting

Graduation ceremonies may be "lame" but it's something that parents love watching none the less... I mean by all means take your high road and be too cool to look back... but realize you took an experience away from the ones who wanted to see forever.... And even if they do say it's ok and only what you want, they are lieing, they have waited (in most cases) 18 years for the day you finally go off to the real world.... It's not always about you at this point.... Sure I didn't thoroughly enjoy my graduation, but I enjoyed seeing how much it made my parents proud when they called my name and announced that I would be graduating with honors.... That late it's no longer about the student....

hm.. it must be different down in the states.. up here graduating from high school doesn't mean jack any more... it's expected you'll graduate from hs now. so now the focus is when you graduate from university/college...

like in the states i always see how they have these big parties and stuff for prom.. but up here its sooo low profile stuff

Your mainy going to feel it after one semester of college, when you realize your on your own and most of your friends are out of your life for good. Its kind of depressing but you'll get over it. Sorry to make it seem harsh, but welcome to life as an adult. smile.gif

congrats. college is kinda scary at first. but you get used to it. pretty much the same feeling as going from middle school to high school... except like ten times worse. but whatever, its cool now. and you'll make new freinds. and you probably won't see some high school friends ever again. but you'll get over it. at least there's myspace. anywho, good luck in life.

when i graduated highschool in 2004 i couldnt believe it was over.

two weeks about my younger sister graduated highschool.

despite my father having a heart attack and going into a comma a few months before my graduation and then finally passing away a month before my sisters graduation, my life has only been getting better.

i started working on cars half way through my junior year, almost 4 years ago. back then people knew me for turbocharging my celica

now everywhere i go in my home time people know me. people i have never met before walk up to me and tell me how fast my car is, lol. my group of freinds has the fastest cars(one 10 second car, two 9 second cars one of which is being built up to go 8's) this leads to a reputation that me and my friends know our ****. as a result, people pay us to do installs, fabrication, and tuning.

we just got a shop in canoga park and in about a month we are gonna have another 9 second car(whole new car, not making the 10 second car a 9 second car) in the group and my car will have a gt35r under the hood.

oh yea, im also full time college(cal poly pomona), studying mechanical engineering.

point is, im having a lot of fun

My parents have no regrets about me not going to my graduation. My dad thinks its no big deal taht every kid should graduate high school and they dont deserve something special. My mom however only wishes that I went to my prom so she could see me in a nice formal dress. She still brings it up but screw that it was my 18th bday so I went clubbing.
My family is a bit different than most...

Just asked my mom if she regrets me not going to my graduation

me "do you wish I would have gone to my graduation?"
mom "not at all. I regret going to mine.

me "do you wish I would have gone to my prom"
mom "god yes."

grad was fun.... but all my friends had graduated about 2 years before me, i didn't really hang out with anyone in my grade, so leaving school wasn't hard for me at ALL. it was just another day to dress up all fancy, and go out for a night on the town, and get home at 6am.

Welp... I'm now officially a graduate...

And holy crap... The class party after the ceremony... I ened up getting hypnotized in front of my entire class and I have no idea what I did, but my friends told me that I tried stuffing money I didnt have down my shirt, that I was pretending to drive a $250,000 car, and other weird things like that. So i was basically scareaming and acting out weird crap that I dont even remember...

Oh and I eneded up hurting myself... It ended yup ruining my entire night and now I'm just pissed about it. I chipped my tooth in the pool, little did I know that the pool never got deeper, when it looked as if it did, so i was a dumbsh*t and ran my face into the bottom by accident... I dont know... my friends said they couldnt even really notice, but when i got home my dad said it was bad...

So things are really lookin up for life rolleyes.gif
