UPDATE ON THE LAST PAGE....

Hey guys I got it in! My car IS 100% completed. The header is a 4-1 design. The header is colored black and only requires modification to the length of the 02 sensors. Everything else bolts right up.

The pricing will be as follows--
1-9 people -215 shipped. Colored with black paint, and all gaskets
10-20 people -205 shipped. Colored with black paint, and all gaskets
I can do the whole system back to the cat, but just pm me if your intersted.

I got the header in, car runs great and pulls strong.

PICS and VIDS on page 3.

Send the money to jcamp13@comcast.net through paypal.
I would appreciate 3% added onto the final price, b/c once again, Im not making any money on this!
Thanks!

We'll end the name taking on Saturday July 15th
4-1 Header, All gaskets included
Only thing you'll need are 3 bolts,a spacer if needed, and wires to make your o2 sensors longer.
Any exhaust shop will be able to do this and should have the wire, and accesories on hand!

UPDATE ON THE LAST PAGE....

I'm in, but I want to see a picture of this thing, and I would like to know how "bolt on" it will be. Also, are you making money on this deal, or is this just a service you are offering just to help out?

Pics will be up friday june 30th. IT WILL BE BOLT ON..PROMISE. This is a service for you. The header for me will cost about 210 once completed. I am adding about 20 dollars for shipping. He said if I get 10-15 people he will work out a little bit of a price reduction with me.

I have a few questions...

will this header only replace the exhaust manifold and the primary cat ? and will bolt directly to our stock flex/down pipe ? and have a bung/flange for the front 02 sensor ? will a manifold gasket be included ? or an 02 sensor gasket ?

thanks

yes it will replace the primary cat and will directly fit on your stock downpipe. Yes, this does include all flanges and bungs, as of right now i am unsure if it comes with either of the gaskets but ill check tommorow and get back to you.

it depends on the condition of your old gaskets. I would get new ones because mine are over 10 years old and baked, but it is up to you.

the other thing I have a problem with is 94 fed (non cali) GTs only have 1 02 sensor, all of the rest have 2. The front 02 sensor has the same fitting each year (flange) while 96+ has a bung fitting for it's rear 02 sensor.

It is shown in this pic (thanks Lew)

IPB Image

the top (front) is a flange while the bottom (rear) is a bung. I have 2 flanges for my 02s (94-95), other members have 1 of each (96+). There is no header that will accomidate 94-99 GTs easily.

Once you release the pressure by removing the old manifold the used gaskets are going to expand. So your gonna need new gaskets. Not like its that expensive. If you use the old one your chancing a leak which is not a good thing.

Ok for sure, for 94 and 95 becuase I have a 95. Can someone please post up a pic of 96-99? I will be able to make them for that year too...just need to see where the o2 sensors are!

All you need to do is add another o2 hold and have the header come with an optional cover plate for it. That way us 94-95 guys have our singal, and those 96+ guys can have their 2.

PLEASE READ....

Ok guys, I need someones 96-99 old gt header, so I have something to go off of. Is anyone willing to give there thiers? And, I will have one ready to make so the day I recieve your header I will send you your new one out the next day. Someone preferably on the east coast so I could have it to you as soon as possible, which will be only about 3 days from the day I recieved your old header to get the new one back to you. You will also be getting a deduction on your new header!

Anyone?

should be easy to just add a 2nd tap for the 2nd senser lower to the base, dont really have to make it in the "exact location" since its gana be compleatly diff anyway I doubt it would make a big enough deal. actualy since the 2nd factory one is just mounted below the 1st cat you could go without it since its gana get the same reading as the top one and just put a Y in the wire to the first so it fakes it, (not 100% sure if you can put a Y in it and split the signal light that but its a thought.)

Can anyone second that? If the 96-99 gt's could splice the one o2 sensor into the other, I could just mass produce the one header for all gt's. Although, if this is not the case I will definatley make it possible to have 2 seperate bung holes for each o2 sensor.

I would think the purpose of the 2nd O2 sensor is to read a change in exhaust gases, being that the OBDII is more strict on emissions, etc... otherwise it may throw a check engine light....

I would be interested in this header if you made it work for the 96+... it would be interesting to make it with a highflow catalytic in place of the stock odd shaped primary catalytic...

Either way, please keep us posted if you can make them work on the 96+... thumbsup.gif

Just my .02 cents...

Ok GUYS...UPDATE...

I went today and saw the completed header. Again, I will post pictures this coming Friday of it installed (from the top and of the undercarriage). This is how it is going to work...There will be a bung hole for the top o2 sensor...the second sensor for what I believe is the catalytic converter will be non existent. This is the easiest and most feasible way to go about it. I have talked to two other mechanics (a diagnostic service center and a header fabrication center). They both said that splicing the second cat sensor off the stock header into the cat a little below that one will not be a problem or throw an engine light at all. Again, I will make 100% sure that it won’t throw an engine light before I sell them to you because I will soon have it installed. How this will be done is obviously splicing the wire right above the 2nd sensor and run an extended wire to the 3rd sensor. Basically this will be tricking your motor to sense the same reading as your 3rd sensor.

The header will be heat coated with the color of your choice. Also, all gaskets will be included. Although, if you want the header to be ceramic coated that WILL be an additional cost. The heat coating may over a long period of time begin to flake (i'm just basically not guaranteeing that it will hold up for the life of the car, just so I don't have any unsatisfied customers). The only 100% sure way that you will be able to have no flaking for the life of the car is by ceramic coating, which again will cost a little extra (price specified in first post).

The best route that I think you should take is heat wrapping your header instead of ceramic coating unless you want your header a certain color. I personally am going to get mine heat coated (which they all come with the base price) plus with header wrap. From the bottom of the header I will be replacing the stock downpipe/flexpipe with an aftermarket piping equivalent to my 2.5 inch exhaust, and also be using a magnaflow catalytic converter to replace the cat where my 2nd and 3rd sensor will be now. This can be sold as a complete kit...Header, Downpipe, Flexpipe into a Magnaflow cat, which will then lead into a catback exhaust. THis will obviuolsy be a little more expensive due to the price of the piping from the header to the cat and the price of the cat. Or you can not take the cat and have one of your choice. This header will have a few different options to what can be added, upon your request.

All of these prices will be determined this Friday, but will be pretty close to the estimate I gave you from the beginning (in the first post).

The header will be a 4-1 design. The 4-2-1 was too difficult to complete. With our cars the difference between the 4-1 and 4-2-1 will not be significant, now in a v6 car where you have header(s) there is a difference.

So, all in all the headers will be a 4-1 design, allow the first bung hole to be available, and the second one in 96-99’s will have the wires (and everything needed) to professionally connect and run the wire from the 2nd sensor to the third.
Because of this, the header will be available for the 94-99 year GT's. The 94-95 guys will have no problem; this will be a direct bolt on. For the 96-99 guys you will simply need to follow my instructions concerning the wiring, and I will be testing this to make sure you do not throw any engine codes.

The header welds will be VERY strong, I am telling you this for the people that want to run nitrous (such as myself). You WILL NOT have to re-enforce your welds or worry about it during the use of nitrous. Although, I will be checking periodically just to be as careful as possible, but again, is not needed.

I don't understand why but my car is a 95 but has 2 sensors as shown in the picture above. So, if someone could please post a picture of the 94-95 header I would appreciate it... Just to make sure that the 94-95’s only has one sensor. I always wondered about my car? It is a 95 GT with a 5sfe but has 2 sensors and has a hood that said it was from a 1.8 liter ST???
Maybe with the picture of the 94-95 stock header I will be able to better know what is going on with my 5sfe and car!!
Thanks!

I'm in. What are the color choices? If there is a silver, I want that. If no silver, I want black. I have a 94 GT, and there is only 1 O2. You may have a Cali car or something. Or maybe it's a 96 model, that was made in 95. Let me know the details on the payments. I'm close to Hershey PA as well, so if shipping is an issue, I can get it. And, if I can get one without paint for a drop in price, I'll take that, because I plan on rapping it. If you need a test fit for a 94-95 with 1 O2, I can come up there and let you use my car. I can also pay in cash if you want to test fit one on my car.

EDIT: And I can do it this weekend.
EDIT2: If you need a test fit and a referance, I could probably pull enough cash together to get the kit fitted. If price is right.

I might be interested in a few months for the complete kit - will it be still available? Until then I'll wait for the feedback of the lucky ones that will be testing this nice package...

Yes silver will be fine....do you want a chrome look or a regular silver look? I will also get a complete color list up tommorow (June 28th). Yes that would be great, I will test fit your car. Please pm me your telephone number! Not this coming weekend, but next will work for me. Remember though, I still have to test it out myself. But so far so good with fitment isues. We put it up to my engine today and it looked perfect. Yes one without paint will be about a 10 dollar price drop. PLEASE READ FIRST POST AGAIN...UPDATED

QUOTE(Batman722 @ Jun 23, 2006 - 12:27 AM)

the other thing I have a problem with is 94 fed (non cali) GTs only have 1 02 sensor, all of the rest have 2. The front 02 sensor has the same fitting each year (flange) while 96+ has a bung fitting for it's rear 02 sensor.

QUOTE(pimped6gen @ Jun 27, 2006 - 7:24 PM)

I don't understand why but my car is a 95 but has 2 sensors as shown in the picture above. So, if someone could please post a picture of the 94-95 header I would appreciate it... Just to make sure that the 94-95’s only has one sensor.

maybe I should of been clearer, so here it goes... only the 94 non-cali (federal emission) GTs have 1 02 sensor. All other USDM GT Celicas 94-99 have 2 02 sensors.

Now to explain the difference between the 02 sensors in the 94-95 and the 96+

the flanges of the 94-95 both (front and rear) look like this one pictured - one is in the exhaust manifold and the second is in the primary cat (not pictured)

IPB Image

for the 96-99 and the top (front) sensor has this (same as the 94-95 guys)

IPB Image

but the bottom (rear) looks like this

IPB Image

for example, look at this picture again from LewFX of his header for his 99 GT

IPB Image

^^^^ that header pictured will bolt up to any 94-99 GT but the lower 02 bung will have to be changed to the correct flange to fit the 94-95 02 sensor

I'm not trying to be a jerk, I just need to make sure you have the correct information

^^Good info Batman. I didn't know that, and I was trying to figure out what the big deal was with these things.

BTW: I am headed to Hershey, PA the weekend after this one to get this thing put on my car. I will write a review of it to let everyone know how it is. I'm going to try and get at least 3 0-60 run times in before, and 3 after to make sure I have a reasonable accurate measurement. pimped6gen and I are trying to work out a thing with a dyno, mostly pimped6gen. I think that would better show the results for this. Let me know if you have any suggestions, guys.

cool beans.
my tips:
make sure its a dynojet, and bring a 3.5" floppy so that they can D/L the runfiles to disk for you.

The header install went well. Car definitely seems faster and allows the engine to breathe much easier. Exhaust is noticably louder. Sorry for the delay but pics will be up tomorrow along with a more detailed write up. Thanks.

I do have pics but they are only of the undercarriage wiring from the bottom o2 sensor to the o2 sensor before the cat back exhaust. I did not take any pics of the header yet because the shop took it out for a few test runs and by the time I saw it they only had enough time to have the black finish (paint) on the header which was flaking off. It was not the prettiest thing, but for you guys who want to save a buck, that’s the way to go. I will be putting on my header wrap either this Sunday or Monday and will be posting ALL of the pics then. I also have another appointment with the exhaust shop this Monday (July 3rd) to install my headers back to my cat (they ran out of time while putting in my header in, so they were not able to wrap my header or do my headers back exhaust yet). I will be posting pictures and vids of the exhaust sound once it’s completed. As of now I would rather not comment on the exhaust sound because I have no restrictions, but I will...
It is headers straight back, all my cats are gutted and no resonators. It obviously doesn’t sound like the nice deep tone that I used to have with just my cat back. Although, now it’s more of a raspy LOUD sounding exhaust. I will be letting you know though how it sounds with my header back to my new magnaflow cat. The exhaust shop told me that once I put the cat on the noise should go back to the stock sounding, nice deep tone but a little louder, with no raspyness.

All in all this did not take them much time for them to do (about one hour to an hour and a half). They had to take the bottom o2 sensor, splice the wire and run the wire to my o2 sensor on the cat right before my cat back exhaust. Secondly, they needed to make the 1st o2 sensor about 1 and half inches longer as well. This again was easy, just splice the o2 wire and make it a little longer, plug it into the adapter and we were set. EDIT---I forgot to mention...header lines up perfectly with stock downpipe...only requires welding (obviously).

I have thrown no engine codes and car seems to be breathing SOOO much better. I also got my dual friction clutch and fidanza flywheel in at the same time, so to me driving off the lot I felt like I had a new car! Revs seem sooo much quicker and it feels like the car wants to be boosted. It feels as if my motor doesn’t have enough power...almost feels like its asking for more, I even chirped 2nd today by mistake! lol. Now I understand why Pressure says that our cars love boost. Top end also feels much smoother; it doesn’t feel like the car is fighting you to get there. It feels like it wants to be there. I say this mod was something that I should have done a long time ago. I will be looking forward to Bigmeanbulldog55 coming up and getting one on and doing a write up about it.

The next update will be this Monday (PROMISE)!! I will 100% be including pictures, and video if someone can help me how to do it. (I don’t know how to get vids up on the site?). I will be looking forward to this Monday, and sorry for the delay everybody, but I promise it will be well worth the wait!

Edit---read last sentence of 3rd paragraph if you did not already...

Ok guys, got everything on.
Car feels great, runs sooo smooth and feels a lot snappier. Horespower throughout the whole powerband has increased, and I feel a slight tourque increase.
Sounds mean now. With a slight rasp, but sounds good.
I would love to video record myself through third gear but I have to brake in my clutch another 300 miles frown.gif

Well here are the pictures....
I'll have videos and final pricing up tonight...

Pic of the header...

ok my guy told me that the final pricing would be...
1-9 people -215 shipped
10-20 people -205 shipped.
Its up to all of you what price we get. If people want to start leaving there names feel free.
I am working to get vids up right now.

LewFX has video up for all of you...
I have 4-1 headers back with 2.25 exhuast with over the axle exhaust, a hks muffler, magnalfow catalytic converter, cold air intake, and fidanza flywheel. NO resinators installed. When one is installed those poeple who want the nice low tone with no rasp will be able to have what they want.
...enjoy...

Also,
Bigmeanbulldog55 will be getting his header on this Friday (July 7th) and will be leaving his feedback to all you who have doubts.

Yeah, it's definately the muffler with no resonator. Trust me I dont like the sound too much myself. I will be making a few more trips to the exhaust shop, changin out the muffler and then maybe a resinator.

You get the header, and ALL gaskets. The only other accesories that you will need are the wires to extend the o2 sensors and I believe 2-3 bolts and 1 spacer. It varies per car so it would be to hard to send you the exact amount of wiring and accesories.

If not I guess we should start collecting names.
What do you guys think? We'll end the name taking on Saturday July 15th?
Send the money to jcamp13@comcast.net through paypal.
I would appreciate 3% added onto the final price, b/c once again, Im not making any money on this!
Thanks!

I guess not....I totaly gave up on it.
I mean dont get me wrong, if anyone wanted me to start a gb on them I would be glad to.
But, it just pissed me off how the person I was letting test them out for me wrote me up a
not too good review, so i just said forget it. I mean, I think he had one modification he had to make
which took another 5 minutes out of his time but whatever.

I just dont think people understand that there arent any headers really on supply out there for our car.
And to maybe have to do VERY minor modifications (if any) it should be understood and accepted.
Well you guys let me know! I saw GREAT gains with this header. My top end was noticebaly smoother and picked up much faster.

Thanks,
Brandon
