Not alot of Gen III'ers here. You might want to try gt4oc.com or another one of the gt4 forums across the pond.

So I continued to research my cel issue and today I came across this onmr2oc forums (quote on the bottom)
and this page lists check engine light codes for gen3 3sgte: http://www.ayrpark.plus.com/errorcodes/normal.htm code 47 is listed as "Secondary throttle position sensor", and described with this: "[VTA1, VC, IDL2, E2] Whenever a short circuit or a circuit detachment in the secondary throttle position sensor is detected for over 0.5 seconds." in area of: "* Wirings and connectors (secondary throttle position systems) * Secondary throttle position sensor * ECU Does anyone have any idea as to what secondary TPS is and how to test for its functionality ?????? QUOTE found this http://www.ayrpark.plus.com/errorcodes.html if you go on the rev3 turbo bit, youll see vta2 on the error code 47.....now i have a ecu error code 47, but i beleive many many rev3 owners have this error as well as all rev1/2 to rev3 conversion folk..... any more ideas?? i cant find anywhere to test for the "secondary" TPS.....the BGB only lists the main TPS with outputs of vc, ta, idl and e2 instead of the vta2, vc, idl2 and e2 thats listed on that page for the "secondary" tps.......... -------------------- QUOTE(tufy @ Jul 19, 2006 - 7:40 AM) i dont drive fast, i just fly low |

Sounds like its an issue with the idle switch (the throttle closed switch). Check each of the pins you mentioned there in your last post at the ECU to make sure the correct signal is getting there. You can check it with the key in the 'on' position and the motor off (so you can go full throttle 'n stuff without killing the motor!).
Is your throttle held open at all by the throttle cable? (I had to modify mine a bit to get it to allow the throttle plate to close all the way) -Charlie -------------------- 2003 Subaru WRX Wagon

Is it the IAC valve? I would just spray the whole TB with CRC and see what that does.
