Hey i was looking through a catalog performance company and i came across a LSD kit. I dont know if anybody has looked into this but could a LSD be put into a GT transmisson or ST to help with traction issues?

I know for a fact they are made by Kaaz and TRD for the 3S-GE tranny (beams/non beams) and for the 3S-GTE but dont know about the 5S-FE and 7A-FE.

i've heard that LSD would go into just about anything if it was meant for that tranny, but its very complicated to install because you have to remove your gears to make it fit inside.

Seems like it would be a bit of money saver if somebody could master the install . Since you wouldnt have to hunt parts for mr2 tranny or gt for the 3sgte

I can't get my s54 to hook like that. It wants to spin the one wheel and jump alot with me. Has some pretty bad torque steer from time to time.

yea...the pic thing was more of a joke than anything...i mean, yea, it really DID spin both tires...but most of the time, its pegleg...and LOTS of wheelhop...wish it woulda stood flat like that @ the track that friday, prolly woulda meant the diffrence between the 14.1 @ 102, and being into the 13s.
why both spun like that, i dont know for sure, although i do have my theorys.... laugh.gif

@Manny:

Let me guess both tires are beyond the thread on the tire so in fact you have no grip at all on both tires resulting in a nice even burnout smile.gif

Were is that one that is made for the s54? I know they made one. I'm planning on rebuilding my 2nd s54 with a LSD for my 3sgte. I'm hoping the short gears won't be a problem. I'm probably going to do a turbo 5s first. I've got to get the NA thing beat now though. It's a set by set process. Eh, I'm probibly just as full of crap as all those 16 year olds talking about making a rear GT4 stateside, ignor my ramblings.

LSD 'kits' are probably those phantom grip things, which work like diff lockers. Not a true LSD. Besides the turbo guys... stockish or even modded Celicas don't need LSD's...

It's rumored to be true... but only for the high-end kouki (97-99) models.
