nice kill.. you need to tell that guy on the RR to shift better!

tufy, what do you think your car can do in the 1/4 mile? have you been to the track? i just watched the video again, i could've swore the RR bounced it off the rev limiter.

WOW

But serious. Tufy's 0-60 would be about 3-4 seconds. The bike does the same. I think it would be nice if the next bike was a Suzuki GSXR 1000 or Yamaha R1/R6

That was a cool vid but....
That biker did not know how to ride and at a quick look it looks like he weighs 300lbs on that little 600!
He did not leave the line right, missed 2nd gear, and let off half way thourgh 3rd after the celica cut in the middle of the road. It would be cooler to see how it would do up against a stock celica cause most of you guys would relate better. That bike with a good rider would not loose i owned a gixxer 1000 and that bike ran high 9's stock. I know of a 900hp supra that barely pulls on a bike and it would not be getting the lead from the start either. Sorry if i sound anti tuffy but... on the positive side it looks like tuffy must be a good driver to make a bike with a bad rider look that bad. Tuffy did get the kill on that race, but a good bike rider would not go down like that!

DG_Performance I read your post. http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=39330&st=20
I would like to say that the biker was not smooth or very experienced, but the Celica had too much power for that CBR600. I like bikes it’s just that that bike and that car combination even with a seasoned veteran cyclist would have not produced a win for the CBR in my opinion. I not trying to give you a hard time. I just wanted to respond to your thoughts.

1. “That biker did not know how to ride and at a quick look it looks like he weighs 300lbs on that little 600! “
Looks like around 175 - 190lbs to me.
2. “He (biker) did not leave the line right.”
We don’t get the opportunity to view pre-launch rpm for the CBR or the Celica. I agree the biker should be definitely pulling the front wheel in 1st and 2nd gear shifts. He did however, appear to leaning with his chest on the fuel tank.
3. “(biker) missed 2nd gear. “
Sounds like he didn’t let off the throttle between shifts. Not smooth.
4. “(Biker) let off half way through 3rd”.
The Celica is still pulling away from the CBR at this time.
5. “after the celica cut in the middle of the road.”
The Celica has several lengths on the CBR at that time. The Biker knew that he could even match the Celica, let alone beat it. There are trees beside the road. The move both toward the center to clear the trees. The CBR isn’t being cut off. Look more like zoom lens distortion. Most footage in zoom/ telephoto looks make vehicle looks closer than without zoom.
6. “It would be cooler to see how it would do up against a stock celica cause most of you guys would relate better.”
I think most know that a CBR 600 would absolutely kill a stock USDM Celica GT or ST or even a stock JDM Celica.
7. “That bike with a good rider would not loose.”
I respect your opinion. I don’t agree.
8. “i owned a gixxer 1000 and that bike ran high 9's stock.”
9. “I know of a 900hp supra that barely pulls on a bike “
In another thread Tufy beat a “1000bhp” Supra. There is an earlier vid. of this race also. Four wheel drive can really do surprisingly well against many higher powered vehicles. http://www.rateyourgarage.com/1050bhpSupra...0bhpGt-Four.MOV
10. “and it would not be getting the lead from the start either.”
The Celica is about 2500lbs and has 400 plus bhp four wheel drive. The Celica has the advantage.
I have ridden in a 400bhp 2400lb car and could beat all makes of 700cc bikes with only rear wheel drive. I completely think he could do this on a regular basis.

11. “Sorry if i sound anti tuffy but... on the positive side it looks like tuffy must be a good driver to make a bike with a bad rider look that bad.”
I personally don’t think you sound anti Tufy at all.
12. “Tuffy did get the kill on that race, “
Yeah and it was fun to watch.
13. “but a good bike rider would not go down like that!”
Again, I respect your opinion. I don’t agree.

Best Regards

It would have been different if the Supra didnt have 1050hp. A lot of people think omfg 1000+hp Supra! But numbers that high are just that, numbers. Tons of turbo lag when you have that much power. Still a nice win though lol.

i dont have a track time yet... but my car should be arround low 11's with 1.4 bars boost. i am planning to boost higher at dragster next week (1.6 seems ok) after checking a/f ratio with my 850cc sards.. shame that i still dont have my hks 1000cc's.

lets say bike coulnd lunch.. and coulnt shift 2nd gear. ( its 1.5 cars behind me now)
what about. between 100-200 kmph that i passed him at least 5 cars at the end..

i heard same words after i raced with 1050bhp supra. they said guy doesnt know how to drive rolleyes.gif i am not a profesional driver at all.. but this time at bike race i had advantage of my new shift light and higher rev limit wink.gif

an other guy with 900bhp m3 with nos offered me race for 1000 usd... this time i ll make a good investigation about the driver before i race biggrin.gif

Even if the Supra did know how to drive, its just too much power. If he had less hp it would have been more of a race lol.

Keep us updated with the m3, that would be interesting.

Having seen Tufy's car on the Dyno last month, I can vouch that the car is sick. The car has an immence amount of power. Everybody seems to forget that we are talking about a 4wd car with probably one of the best 4wd transmission ever built (TORSEN from TORque SENsor)

Also we are taking about a CBR600 which is not the fastest out there but on general quite fast. Bikes may have a killer acceleration but having all the power in just one tyre makes impossible to compare launch of a bike with a 4wd car.

Hey Tufy I believe you should start thinking about an upgraded suspension and you should look after your transmission as I learn you drag race almost daily.

how do you figure that? If it's properly tuned and so forth and he obviously knows what he is doing... i dont see him losing to many if any lower hp supras.... Good job tufy

neoklis....
Don't worry man... i dont drive fast, i just fly low woot.gif woot.gif
i already have after market suspentions. for now transmission seems ok. i dont know whats going to be with higher boost. i have some future plans for gearbox. but its not the next step. next is brakes to stop this monster....
p.s. flying was just a joke i drive slowly and i dont push my car so much. i drag race 1-2 times a month only wink.gif

Nice job on toasting that bike. You're car is amazing

I am going to have to agree with DG on this one about the rider not knowing **** about racing on that bike. He either doesn't know how to ride or he was just following you, cause a bike is pretty freaking quick and it should beat you off the line b/c of the weight that it has compared to yours, just like how Fwd or RWD beat AWD of the line b/c of that grip issue or whatever its called.

I'm not doubitn that your car is amazing and everything i'd like in a celica, but to beat a bike needs a person who knows how to ride a bike for it to be really impressive win.

Manufacturer Model Hp Torque Quarter Mile Wet Weight

Honda CBR600F4i ('01) 95.5 @ 12,500 42.6 @ 10,250 10.71

Honda CBR600RR ('03) 105.4 @ 13,500 43.7 @ 11,250 10.94

Unless your car can do this, it was bike rider error.

here is some times that i take from www. dragtimes.com
time------speed

10.942---125.190--Honda CBR 600rr 2003 Dustin
11.339---126.540--honda CBR 600RR 2003 bryan
11.440---120.200--Honda CBR 600rr 2003 Nick

i think cbr 600rr is not that fast.. my car should be arround 11 sec.. that is so close to cbr 600.
not to be even closer to me should be cbr drivers fault. but its not his fault that he coulnt pass me..

edit: i am sorry if dustin, bryan and nick doesnt know how to drive too..

Again, I respect your opinion. I don’t agree. [/u]

Best Regards
Yellow94GT
[/quote]

I also respect your opinion and will continue to stick with my own.
I have owned 4 streetbikes and know for a fact... that car should not have beat that bike..... (especially that bad)! Even tuffy says a few post later the 600's are running high tens and he should be close to low elevens which means he is saying he is close to being as fast as those 600 bike times but he dont think he is hitting those times yet. So when he goes to the track and runs a better time than the bike times you can pm me and tell me i was wrong.
I hope i am proved wrong .... but i highly highly doubt that will happen!!

The point of the fact is that the bike rider was sure he'd win as he stated to Tufy that he's beaten Ferraris before.

Bike rider thought he'd win hands down & he got beat fair & square!!!! laugh.gif

Well done Tufy. All bike riders are gay anyway with a fetish for wearing tight leather clothes laugh.gif

A lot of drag racing is driver skill. There is a member on the OC in England that can run low 12's in his GT4 & it's almost stock.

It's all in the technique. Thats what I tell the girls anyway biggrin.gif laugh.gif

A car that stock runs 400m @ 14.1 seconds, cannot run in 12 low only for the driver's ability.

Ah ok,
it's only on what we mean:

for me "almost stock" is an ebc/dp/full exhaust for about 280/290 REAL fw hp.

PS: i am talking about REAL hp because I read that in USA born a new unit of measurement...... the DYNOJET's HP !!!
And the same MR.Dinojet had to admit, on 3 american magazines, that their dynos give power numbers 20% more than real.

Please ALWAYS specify if we are talking about HP or DJ HP...

www.st205.net was made by a great friend of mine, a really special person I met in October 2005 at the Ring.... Dan Johnson !

magic has 255 awhp and 320 engine power. Alex's 350 bhp st 205 probaply has less then 290 whp which you can also call it slightly modifed.
when we take our cars to a rolling dyno we like to talk about whp's because engine power is calculated and may not be accurate..
btw although st205.net is not updated for years, but still it is a great site. have great infos....

Sorry,

I need to explain better then...

Dinojet's WHEEL HP are 20% more than real.

Just reporting from an EVO forum:

" We all just need to be clear that Dynojet numbers ARE NOT ACTUAL WHP NUMBERS. If anything the numbers a Dynojet spits out are more closely related to flywheel numbers.

Before anyone opens their mouth to argue the point, the inventor, designer, originator of the Dynojet openly stated this a few months back in 3 major automotive magazines. I actually quoted what he had to say here.

obviously, you dont own a bike. anyone who has ever ridden a bike can tell from the video that 2nd gear was missed. he went from 1st gear (after a horrible start) to neutral, where all he did was rev it, then finally to 2nd. his miss into neutral is what lost him the race. yes its his fault, yes the GT4 won, but u can see how he lost it. tufy's car may be fast, but not that fast..

Hey guys, I really cant understand what te fuss is about. Yea the CBR is fast. So did the 1000 hp Supra. The fact is that they both underestimated the Celi and they pay for it. They have been killed on the road by that red celi and the whole world now knows about it. I dont care if the have a million reasons for getting beaten. The fact is that Tufy remains unbeaten.!!!!!

This is why i dont race with just anyone. Any car has the potential to become really fast.

& it doesn't matter if the biker got a bad start or missed a gear or changed up too early, blah, blah, balh!

The biker was certain that he would whoop Tufy's ass as he said to Tufy,

"You know I've beaten ferraris right?"

aaaaaaand, your point is Mr. tight leather pants wearing man?

Big deal, so he's beaten the odd Itallion Stallion now & then.

Fact is Tufy threw down the gauntlet there & then & the biker got beat.

Everyone knows that cars are faster around race tracks anyway. It was proven on Top Gear biggrin.gif

I race bikes all the time...very rarely win, but the gap isnt that far.....with a bit more power than I have it would be possible to win a few more races. Bikes cant use all there power off the line which is why AWD cars stand a chance..no matter how slim it may be. The biker had his chance and blew it, Tufy took his chance and won....well done to you Tufy...dont listen to the nay sayers...when it came to it, you won...end of story...nuf said.

Nope

So the guy I know who has just finished 800 hp Supra, upgrades 380 hp Almera and works on his own 5gc 4WD to get 300 hp and 400 Nm (with very similar setup to one I described) is wrong?

Getting back to the subject - looking at the video with Subaru and Supra for me it is obvious that whoever has a good start on this particular road you are racing on, wins the race. There is no chance to make up for the late start due to the small width and trees getting in the way. Which does not change the fact that Tufy is impressive fighter using very impressive weapon. Respect. biggrin.gif
